Happy ! Today, we are celebrating a huge milestone!

Here is what your generosity just did for the Fairmount Academy:

• Annual Operating Budget: $5,047

• Total Raised: $5,755

• Status: 114% Funded 🎉

Because our amazing community and local businesses stepped up, our core expenses are covered for the year! This leaves us with a $708 surplus that is goes directly to our inside and outside beautification project! 🖌️🛠️🪚🌸

Here is our next challenge: $708 is an amazing start, but we need to raise a lot more to restore these beautiful buildings. 🏫

Asking the community:

What are some fundraiser opportunities that you like to participate in?

We have a very small hands on committe and need to make a dent in the renovation cost so fundraising is a necessity but help is limited.

Raffles, giveaways, bake sale, yard sale, etc.

Be specific. Helps us out!

Come on out!

At this clean up day we will be giving the ol' girl a deep clean and shine AND hopefully setting up a little bit for our Christmas Event (to be announced) 👀👀!

Students needing community service hours in grades 6 & up are welcome (if your sports teams need community service or want to help out a local non-profit bring them on out!) , paperwork will be provided that day for hour credit for each student/person.

Please message us so we can plan ahead as light lunch will be provided! We thank you in advance 🙏 😊!

Here are two proud Fairmount Academy alumni attending a Fairmount Festival possibly late 70’s or early 80’s.
The lady on the left is my late mother, Linda Foote King 1946-2023, who attended the Fairmount Academy from 1st through 6th grade. I believe the years were 1951 - 1957.
The lady on the right is my great grandmother, Annie Loockerman Curtis Ruark 1896 - 1992 who would have attended the Fairmount Academy in the early 1900’s and she was a school teacher there during WWI.
They both had vivid memories and stories of growing up in Fairmount and attending the Fairmount Academy. I wish we had recorded some of the memories.

Our goal is $60,000 to bring our buildings up to par and open the museum for events and exhibits. These funds will fund repairs, improvements, and begin the process to have the Fairmount Academy Historical Association back up and in full swing.
