The Lewis County FRN has been serving our community for 25 years. Please join us in congratulating and thanking them for all of their hard work and dedication.
Did you know that this is the FRN's 25th year in Lewis County? 🙌🏼 There have been many ups and downs over 25 years, but we have grown steadily and sustainably for the past 10 years to continue serving this community based on current and ever changing needs.
We are part of a network of FRNs across our great state - some their own organizations, others are programs within larger organizations - who are responsive to the needs of their communities. We work to develop, coordinate, and build capacity with innovative projects and evidence based programming to connect families to local resources and to eachother.
Our work in more than 50 programs & projects crosses many sectors and community needs. It supports prevention, substance use prevention, child abuse prevention, capacity building, self sufficiency, school readiness, and much more.
We take this work seriously. Talk to any of our dedicated staff, and you'll hear pride in their work and stories of change and growth. Our work is physically and mentally hard, but we also have the privilege of seeing so many successes - big and small!
We see...
** a Grandma growing more confident in raising her grandchildren after completing Healthy Grandfamilies with us
** a mom reunited with her children after completing detox & recovery
** a dad working hard to interview for better paying jobs, accessing our Success Closet
** a mom rebuilding a life for her family after leaving a domestic violence situation, relying on us for temporary food and basic needs supports
** a great Grandma participating in a group event after hearing about it from her Parents as Teachers Parent Educator
** a foster family raising kids in the community, accessing urgent need items like diapers, wipes, and formula from our pantry programs after they got the call to pick up the kids late one evening
** an aunt seeing success with her nephew, who she has custody of, that we helped connect to vital outpatient mental health and counseling resources .. and so much more!
We are so proud of the support of this community, our local elected officials, and our local Legislators. This work takes all of us, every single day. And we continue to be extremely proud, and humbled, to continue this work in the community... now and for many years to come!
