Last night, 5 of our Careers in Sports students representing Cypress Bay Careers in Sports Club Piper High & Western High School served as official statisticians for the Broward County National High School Football Showcase kickoff contest at McArthur High School .

These students trained in our comprehensive statisticians course in preparation for the game and put their skills to the test.

Our students also had the opportunity to meet Broward Education Foundation President & CEO James Knapp and other BEF officials.

We look forward to seeing how our crew develops throughout the showcase.

Week two of our Careers in Sports Football Statisticians Course took place today at Nova Southeastern University. Eight students representing five different CIS Schools spent two hours with Jamie Carrig of Barry University Athletics refining their skills and preparing to support the upcoming Broward County National High School Football Showcase showcase. Yesterday was a busy one for the JTF. Our bluapple Poetry Network finalists visited the The Ancient Spanish Monastery and Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami for Day Four of our week-long, culturally immersive experience supported by the Miami Dolphins Foundation and UKG , while some of our dedicated Careers in Sports students participated in the first of three football statisticians courses in advance of the Broward County National High School Football Showcase in partnership with the Broward Education Foundation. Special thanks to the Jim Moran Foundation and The Power of Sports for the support of this effort.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at the Jason Taylor Foundation! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that bring us together and the communities that make our country so special. As we gather with family and friends, we’re reminded that the strength of our nation is built on people who serve, support, and lift one another up.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us create opportunities for children and families throughout South Florida. Your generosity and commitment continue to make a lasting impact.

Ping-Pong tables for sale!

For 16 years, your favorite players, cheerleaders, media members and others showcased their skills on these Killerspin | Luxury Table Tennis & Wellness tables at JTs Ping-Ping Smash. But now it’s time for us to put these tables in the hands of those who will use them.

If you know of a local youth center, non-profit, etc. that would be interested in a table, we will gladly give it to them as long as it can be picked up at our office. And if you want a quality table for yourself, you can have one for a $150 donation. The tables, originally sold for $700-$800, are indeed used but still in good condition.

Our fifth and final Careers in Sports Summer Institute day was spent at Florida Atlantic University where Bertram King hosted us to a fantastic day that featured academics, campus life, and athletics. Students learned about the admissions process, tourney the campus, and visited a freshman dorm room before experiencing the student rec center. We then made our way to the Florida Atlantic Football facilities where we heard from a fabulous panel made up of members of the Florida Atlantic Athletics leadership team and toured their stadium. Students saw everything from field level to the visiting team locker room, press room, the Presidents Suite, press box and ultimately made their way to the photo deck on top of the stadium. This was the perfect way to bring an amazing week to its conclusion.

We can not be any more proud of our students for their commitment, dedication, and engagement and we certainly cannot be any more grateful for all of our partners who opened their doors and shared their time and knowledge with this incredible group. Day 4 of the Careers in Sports Summer Institute featured visits to Nova Southeastern University and Fort Lauderdale United. At NSU we spent time with multiple aspects of NSU Sharks Athletics including NSU Strength & Conditioning, nutrition, sports medicine, game day operations and more.

In the afternoon, Michael Shaw, COO of Fort Lauderdale United FC, who gave us a tour of their corporate offices, academy spaces, and their stadium before having a candid and interactive conversation with our students about working in the sports industry.

Day 3 of our Careers in Sports Summer Institute brought our students to 104.3 WQAM where Alejandro Solana took us on a tour, brought students into studios and even put a few on the mic. Alejandro shared his personal journey and gave fantastic advice about breaking into the industry. We then made our way to Barry University where the admissions team introduced us to the University and then Jamie Carrig discussed opportunities within sport that aligned with our five pillars. The students finished the day in Barry’s e-sports arena.

Day 2 of our Careers in Sports Summer Institute brought us to St. Thomas University where we spent the day with STU Sports Administration. Our students learned about the admissions process, toured the campus and then engaged in a mock press conference where they covered several of the school’s student athletes. We asked questions, operated cameras and developed social media posts inspired by the press conference.

Additionally, Vira Edwards, Manager of Football Communications for the Miami Dolphins, shared her personal journey through the industry, answered questions and provided invaluable advice and perspective.

We kicked of our 2026 Careers in Sports Summer Institute today with Miami Hurricanes Athletics. 17 students representing eight different high schools across three counties participated as we toured the Hurricanes Athletics Offices. Our students learned about fields including video production, Communications, Academic Support, Athletic Training, and Facilities and Operations. We are grateful for Shirelle Wright Jackson and her colleagues for this experience.

Special thanks must also go out to The Jim Moran Foundation and The Power of Sports for helping to make this year’s program a reality.

We can’t wait until tomorrow!
