“kids back home” But in many parts of Haiti, children survive on just one meal a day and others go hungry.

Vision
TLF envisions a Haiti in which boys and girls:
* have access to quality education and services to help them reach their full potential
* have the ability to make healthy and informed choices about their lives to actively integrate into society with pride and dignity. Programs/services
We support schools and local grassroots organizations working on critical issues affecting the lives of ch

ildren such as health, nutrition and education. Health and Nutrition
In 2008, nationwide food shortages sparked riots and in 2009, there was a 40% hike in food prices. The World Food Program estimates about 24% of the Haitian population does not receive the recommended minimum daily calories. Studies have shown that children are more likely to be healthy and educated when their families are not worried about where the next meal will come from. Through TLF funding, our partners provide daily nutritional meals to the children in their care to ensure better health and, in some cases, help them focus on their studies. We also work with volunteer health providers to screen for diabetes, sickle cell anemia, vision, dental, and hearing. Education
Lack of access to quality education remains a key obstacle to Haiti’s social and economic development. According to surveys conducted by the USAID, the average Haitian child spends less than four years in school and approximately 35% of Haitian youth are illiterate. Private schools represent 80% of the primary schools in the country, and annual school expenses can represent a significant financial burden for poor families. TLF works with private primary schools to ensure young people possess the necessary knowledge to become productive members of society. We provide tuition assistance to children with challenging life circumstances and encourage active participation from their parents and communities. Outreach
Timoun Lakay organizes and supports local activities to raise awareness of the plight of Haiti’s underprivileged children and families. Through individual donations, fundraising drives and other community events, Timoun Lakay connects Haitian communities to resources including gently-used clothing, educational materials, and toys. Your generous donations can provide the following:

$25 will feed 5 children one nutritious meal a day for a month
$70 covers the tuition of 2 students for a month
$250 covers the registration and school supplies for 1 student for the academic year

*All Donations are Tax Deductible

Let's Show Appreciation 🙏🏽

・・・
Let’s show some gratitude to the people who are on the front lines of COVID-10 relief. First responders, hospital staff, delivery drivers, grocery store workers, are doing work - at risk to their own health - that’s critical to the health and safety of our communities.
Let’s show these heroes some appreciation and support today. Here an idea 👇🏾
- Send a gift card for food to your fire and paramedic station. Bonus points if it's from a local business instead of a chain. - Write thank you notes to doctors and nurses.
