The DC Everest Band will kickoff their 2023-24 school year with a fundraiser playing at the Wausau Woodchucks game on August 7th! They will play pep band music prior to the game along with the National Anthem on the field! Make plans to attend!

Wonderful opportunity with KIDS FROM WISCONSIN:

Hello music directors of the greater Wausau area,

My name is Dylan Butler and I am an alumni of Wausau West High School from the class of 2021. This summer, I have been working with an organization called Kids From Wisconsin. We are a touring ensemble with 22 singer/dancers and a 14 piece show band.

In addition to performing all across the state, we offer free workshops in certain venues to give children ages 7 and older a chance to work with professionals and give them a glimpse of real world experience in the music profession. We offer students a chance to learn part of the show as a singer/dancer or take part in music composition with members of the troupe. In addition, they will also get a chance to learn of the technological aspect with our sound and lighting engineers. For the workshop in Wausau, I have been allowed to lead a masterclass with the show band, where students will have a chance to sit in with the band, read our music with their own instruments, and take part in a professional rehearsal.

I am asking if you all could please pass this information to your students by any means, so that they might know of this opportunity. The workshop is on July 27th at D.C. Everest Senior High from 4:00-5:00 pm. Participants can register by visiting the Kids From Wisconsin Website or by using the link that will be included at the end of this email (We also take walk-ins, but registering gives us an idea of what to expect). The website does say ages 7-14, but we make plenty of exceptions, especially for possible high school band students looking to rehearse with the ensemble.
