We have come dangerously close to accepting the homeless situation as a problem that we just can't solve. I refuse to believe that and surrender. So proud to contribute to and collaborate with and Loving Soles on this shoe drive to benefit . Thank you to and for their support. This incredible organization works every day to make life better for countless men, women and children in the South Florida community. Homelessness is an incredibly colossal problem in our community. Central issues include depression, poor nutrition, poor dental health, substance abuse and mental health problems. According to recent studies, homeless people also experience significantly higher rates of death, disability and chronic illness than the general population. Sometimes a problem seems so big that we don’t think we can do anything to make a difference. But we can. There is one thing that every person can do, and it doesn’t cost anything. Refusing to let the homeless be invisible to you does not cost a thing. Sometimes what a person needs most is the thing we have to give; a warm smile, a greeting, a kind gesture that says, “I SEE YOU,” “YOU ARE NOT INVISIBLE,” and “YOU MATTER.” Everyone can do a small thing to make a big difference….to HANDLE WITH CARE.
