Nine years ago today, we lost Paul.
A husband. A father. A friend. A Flight Medic. A hero.
There are dates that forever divide life into “before” and “after,” and June 1st will always be one of those days for our family and for so many who loved him.
What began from unimaginable grief became something bigger than we ever could have imagined. Because of Paul’s life and because of the incredible first responder community that continues to stand beside us The For Paul Foundation has been able to turn pain into purpose.
Today, we honor Paul not only in memory, but in action.
Through scholarships.
Through Family Forever Kits.
Through supporting line-of-duty families.
Through memorial support.
Through showing up for first responders and their loved ones when they need it most.
Every family we support carries a story. Every scholarship awarded carries a dream. Every act of kindness carries Paul’s legacy forward.
We miss him every single day.
But because of all of you, his impact continues to reach far beyond the day we lost him.
Thank you for helping us continue the mission.

There are some people in this world whose impact can never truly be measured, because they leave pieces of themselves in every person they loved, mentored, encouraged, and inspired. Captain Kevin Haugh was one of those people.

Kevin represented everything good in this profession: strength, humility, humor, compassion, service, and an unwavering love for others. Even while battling ALS with unimaginable courage, he continued to inspire everyone around him.

To our family, Kevin was so much more than a hero in EMS. He was one of the very first people to publicly stand beside Allisonwhen she was being bullied after Paul died, proudly posting and helping make sure she never felt alone in her grief. That kind of love and loyalty changes people forever.

Kevin served as an FDNY EMS Captain, a September 11th responder, a leader, mentor, advocate, and friend to countless first responders across this country. But beyond all of the titles and accomplishments, Kevin simply showed up for people over and over again.

Today our hearts are broken alongside his family, friends, and the entire EMS community. There are no perfect words for a loss this profound.
Kevin, thank you for the legacy you leave behind. Thank you for loving this community so fiercely. Thank you for helping carry Allison when the world felt impossible. We will never forget you.
Rest easy, Captain. 💙
