As this year comes to a close, our gratitude knows no bounds.

2025 was our best year yet:
🌱 500+ volunteer hours
📣 26 outreach events
🌿 500+ native plants IN
🪴 1,700 invasive plants OUT

What stands out most is the people who show up, put in the work, ask questions, share knowledge, encourage participation, and build our team, one event at a time. Your commitment made this year not just successful, but meaningful.

Thank you to our village of volunteers, partners & friends.
Together we have accomplished so much. We are even more proud of the community that we’re building, the one that makes this all possible.

See you next year!

‼️Weston, we need to talk.
Tomorrow 11/18 at 7:30 PM, we are joining the Sustainable Weston Zoom meeting to tackle one of the loudest issues in town—leaf blower use.

🎧The noise? Non-stop, stress-inducing, and totally avoidable.
☠️The air pollution? Hours and hours of Gas blowers spewing cancer causing particles that we are all breathing in.
🌱 The environmental impact? Harm to soil health, wildlife that overwinters in leaf litter, and the ecosystem that makes Weston so unique.

If you care about cleaner air, quieter streets, and a healthier Weston, join the conversation. Let’s rethink what “yard care” should look like. 💚

😎Happy Friday! Here’s another pic from Karins Corner - this one take from her home garden.
A beautiful Great Spangled Fritillary nectar-ing on butterfly w**d (Asclepias tuberosa), with evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) aglow in the background.

🐛Great Spangled Fritillary caterpillars are specialized feeders, consuming only violet leaves. Wondering how you can add more violets to your yard? Replace the mulch around your planted trees, with a living mulch of Violets - you won’t regret it!

🦋Butterfly w**d is the only host plant for monarch butterfly’s, however many pollinators use it as a nectar source.

🌼Evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) is a valuable host plant, particularly for various moth species, including the Primrose Moth (Schinia florida). Beyond its role in supporting wildlife, evening primrose offers other benefits, such as being a source of edible greens and seeds for birds and small mammals, and potentially deterring Japanese beetles from other plants

It takes a village

The Weston Garden Club has been promoting the Pollinator Pathway since 2017. Weston already has existing pollinator-friendly plantings on town-owned property; Lachat Town Farm Community Garden, Town Hall, Weston Library and the Weston School Campus.

With your support, our goal is to create greater awareness of the pollinator pathway, and to join together and plant more native gardens in your backyards, as well as adding more public pollinator gardens.

We are extremely grateful for all of the community support we have received to date! Let’s get planting!
