Strength in Music

Strength in Music This is an Anti-Bullying and Su***de Prevention program that is being designed to use music to help people with anti-bullying and self harm. We have done that!

We are starting an amazing new project that will combine music with Anti-bullying and self-harm awareness. Through this project we are looking to bring artists and survivors to the forefront of educating people about these epidemics. Many people feel that discussing these issues glamorizes the topic and increases incidents. This is not true, ignorance only hides the real problems and forces those

effected to remain quiet. We need to come up with a fresh new way to get people’s attention and educate them on the issues of bullying and su***de prevention. What is the one universal language that we all speak, understand and get excited about? The answer is music. Through music and education we want to raise bullying and su***de awareness in our schools and communities. Awareness gives people the freedom to talk about the problem and find positive solutions. Let’s break the silence and stop standing by and watching our kids suffer. Our program has three parts:
A high powered musical performance that we will be bringing into communities and schools to educate people on ways they can help fight these problems. A set of music cd’s and downloads of our artist’s positive message music available to continue the spread of our message and education we bring to you. A set of books with the stories of survivor’s in it to support our message and show people what can be achieved through positive thinking motivation. This program will be successful because the musical performance will be a high energy show which conveys important anti-bullying messages, but also gets the audience involved. The target audience for these programs is children. Children cannot be lectured to with PowerPoint and statistics, but they can relate to music that gets them moving and singing. After the performance, the audience will be able to purchase or download the music from the performance and also read stories from people who have survived bullying situations through positive influences and motivation. Music is often used to motivate and convey positive messages to young people. A widely recognized program called the Mosaic Project (http://www.mosaicproject.org/) utilizes music to teach diversity and understanding in the highly segregated schools of San Francisco. The Mosaic project was started in 2002 and was awarded the Association of Experimental Educations Organization of the Year Award in 2013. This is only one example of music helping children learning positive behaviors and self worth. I want to thank you for taking your time and reading about our exciting new program. We are very excited to begin working on this project. With your help, I know we can make a difference in the lives of many children.
