Get ready, WMS! Penny Wars kicks off Wednesday through Friday (May 6–8) during lunch and it’s time to bring the competition!

💵 HOW TO PLAY:

Add points to your grade by bringing pennies and paper money 💵💰

Want to throw off the competition? Drop silver coins in other grades’ jars to subtract their points 😏

🏆 WHAT’S AT STAKE:

The grade level that raises the most money wins FREE seating in the cafeteria for a whole week!

PLUS, a teacher from the winning grade will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

📣WMS PTO Announcement 📣
As many of you have seen, Westmoreland Middle School is officially a Reward School! 🎉 We are incredibly proud of our students, staff, and community for helping us achieve this honor.

To celebrate this prestigious award, we are asking for our amazing parents and community volunteers to help us by providing snacks and drinks for our certified teachers on Tuesday, December 2nd. (Items can be brought in Monday or Tuesday)

We are needing:
🧁 Individually wrapped snacks — muffins, granola bars, chips, cookies, or any non-perishable grab-and-go items
🥤 Drinks — gallons of tea, canned or individually bottled soft drinks, and bottled water

18 Sumner County Schools Earn Coveted Reward School Status

Gallatin, TN—The Tennessee Department of Education released its annual list of Reward Schools, which recognizes top tier schools in a comprehensive measure that includes achievement scores, growth scores, chronic absenteeism, English Learner proficiency, graduation rates, and ready graduate preparation. Students in grades 3-11 are tested each year in core subject areas that include math, social studies, and English / Language Arts.

“We are excited to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of these 18 Reward Schools, which highlight the hard work and dedication of our principals, teachers, staff, students, and families,” said Superintendent Dr. Scott Langford. “Their commitment to high academic standards ensures our students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to be Sumner Ready. These honors reflect the culture of excellence we continue to foster across Sumner County Schools.”
