Between torrential down pours this morning, Benchrester Danny Bowman recorded the best AimTrue22 unlimited card to date with a 2450. We had numerous 2350, 2300 and 2250's for the first Unlimited Club Tournament of the Year. Congratulations to all.

Congratulations to all the AimTrue22 Benchresters who managed the 7 mph circling wind gusts this morning. We had two 2500's, numerous 2450's and 2400's. Each card represented an epic battle for the top spots.....Hats off to Scott Logan and Jerry Hunter for taking first and second.

Just like the wind, bench-resters were up, down, and all around this weekend at AimTrue22. Congratulations Scott Logan-Factory, Greg Roberson-Unlimited and all the competitors who weathered a vexing middle Tn spring wind.

Generally, a fast velocity bullet is better in windy conditions because it has a shorter time of flight, giving the wind less time to act on the projectile and push it off course.
The Transonic Trap: For specific cartridges like .22 LR, increasing muzzle velocity can sometimes increase wind drift. If a bullet starts just above the speed of sound, it enters a "transonic" region of high drag almost immediately, which can cause more lag time and drift than a bullet that starts at a slower, more stable subsonic speed.
