I know I'm a day late on this. Happy birthday to the US Army. 251 years ago the US Army was established to fight for our freedom. From fighting against England to the civil war against slavery. To WW1, WW2, the Vietnam war, to the Korean war. From desert storm, Grenada, Iraq Afghanistan and most recently the Iran war. The United States Army has been part of several major conflicts and has defended our way of life. I have had the privilege to be part of that history. The brothers and sisters I got to know while I was in made being in the army worth it. Though my name may not be mentioned but the units I was part of created some important parts of that history. I'd rather be known in the book of life. The US Army will always be here to protect this country from foreign and domestic threats.

On this day in June 1944, US forces landed on the beaches of Normandy. Brave young men who risked their lives so that others maybe free from tarrany. It's because of them the allied forces were able to end the war. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

On Saturday I was happy to be part of the flag laying on several graves for the fallen service members. It was an honor to honor those who paved their way for us.
Today is not a day to say happy memorial Day. For those of us who have lost brothers it's more of a somber day. It's a reality check that shows us that freedom isn't free. it takes brave men and women to fight for our country. While you light your grills, drink your beer and go for a swim in your pools just remember those that fought and died for your freedom.
Today I was honored to be in the memorial day with a great man who has paved the way for guys like me even though he was in the Air Force. Lol he is a cancer survivor and I am glad to be able to learn a few things about him. Great weather and great company. We both know what this day is about.

Despite the sad news I received this morning about my godfather. My family and I fed the Upperco Fire department this afternoon. Thank you guys for everything you do to help keep our community safe. God bless you all!

Today I learned that Ted Turner passed away. Most people are unaware that Ted enlisted in the Coast Guard reserves before he could be drafted. He fulfilled his obligation to his country. He was a billionaire philanthropist who created Turner tv which allowed us to view the news in a way that we never thought possible. Instead of listening to the news we were able to see it on our TVs. Because of him we're able to enjoy cable tv. Thank you Ted and May God bless you and your family. My condolences to his family on this tragic day.
