June 6, 2026: (On Thursday, June 4, 2026) Kevin Dayhoff and employees of Carroll County Public Works on Thursday installed a historical marker in memory of Townsend Cook, a Black man who lived in Carroll County and was lynched by a white mob in June 1885. So proud of Alyssa, our Youth chapter President, and the other winners!

We are proud to announce that CCPS seniors Anika Agarwal, Isabel Cabrera, and Alyssa Collins have been selected to participate in the 2026 Maryland General Assembly Student Page Program! Established in 1969, this prestigious program offers high school seniors from across Maryland the opportunity to serve for two nonconsecutive weeks at the State House in Annapolis, assisting in either the House of Delegates or the Senate. This year’s program runs from January 14 to April 13, 2026, and provides students with a firsthand look at the legislative process and civic engagement in action.
