June 6, 2026: (On Thursday, June 4, 2026) Kevin Dayhoff and employees of Carroll County Public Works on Thursday installed a historical marker in memory of Townsend Cook, a Black man who lived in Carroll County and was lynched by a white mob in June 1885.
