🐾 A Very Special Carroll Kennel Club Congratulations! 🐾

Carroll Kennel Club is thrilled to celebrate a very special accomplishment from our September Scent Work Trial!

🎉 Congratulations to our very first Junior Handler in Scent Work - Sophia Moore! 🎉

Not only did this talented young handler compete with her canine partner Clarice, but the team had an incredible Saturday, September 5 — earning HIGH IN TRIAL in BOTH Trial 1 AND Trial 2! 🏆🐾🏆

What an amazing achievement and such an exciting milestone for Carroll Kennel Club. We love seeing the next generation of dog sport competitors out there working hard, having fun, and building that special bond with their dogs.

Two trials. Two High in Trial honors. One very impressive Junior Handler team! 💙

Please join us in giving this wonderful team a huge round of applause! 👏👏👏

We hope this is just the beginning of many more scent work adventures and accomplishments together. Way to go! 🐾🏆💙

🐾 WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND! 🐾

Carroll Kennel Club would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our September 5–6, 2026 AKC Scent Work Trial at Red Barn Ranch such a wonderful success!

A very special thank you to our five fabulous judges — Jeremy McLaughlin, Lori Kobayashi, Terri Eyer, Michele Gray, and Silke Satzinger — for sharing their time, expertise, and enthusiasm with us throughout the weekend.

We are also incredibly grateful to our wonderful Trial Secretary, Trish Mowery, and to our amazing volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes and throughout the trial. An event of this size simply could not happen without you!

And, of course, our biggest thanks goes to all of our competitors and their incredible dogs. You brought the smiles, the teamwork, the excitement, and the moments that made the weekend so much fun.

🎉 Congratulations to everyone who had qualifying runs, earned new titles, reached personal goals, or simply enjoyed a great day playing Scent Work with their own “best dog ever!” Every success is worth celebrating!

Below, we are recognizing some of our title earners who signed our congratulations sheets. We know there were others, and we congratulate every team that celebrated an accomplishment over the weekend!

THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers!!! You gave up your weekend to come out and help, and you were willing to jump in and do whatever was needed. There are so many things that need to be done "behind the scenes" to keep everything running smoothly, and you all did just that.

Volunteers are the heart of these events and, without you, we would not be able to continue offering them.

Thank you to everyone who came to run, cheer, laugh, visit with friends, take pictures, make memories, and just enjoy a great weekend with your dogs. You helped make this a fun event.

Look for photos, available for purchase, from Dean Lake Photography in a week or two. You'll enjoy looking through the gallery and seeing the joy on all of the dogs' faces.

We hope you had as much fun as we did and we're already looking forward to doing it all again! We'll see you all next year on September 4th and 5th!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of MACH Langford You Are My Sunshine, Maxine, the beloved companion of Jim and Sharon Spies.

Maxine was successful not only in Agility and Rally, but loved competing in Scent Work in retirement. Maxine was also a certified therapy dog and brought joy to so many.

While words cannot ease the pain of losing such a special friend, we hope those missing her find comfort in the wonderful memories they shared together.

Please keep Jim and Sharon, as well as Maxine's sisters (Tillie, Mimsey, and Harriet) in your thoughts as they navigate their world without her.

Run free, sweet Maxine. You will always be loved and missed. 🐾🌈❤️
