Its official as of last night! Our boy Tanner McKim won the Championship! This year is Tanner’s fourth season of racing at Colorado National Speedway and he has stepped up his game! Congratulations Tanner!!!

Twenty-five years later, the sacrifice of September 11th, 2001, is still being felt.

On that day, firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and countless others ran toward unimaginable danger while thousands were trying to escape it. Many gave their lives in the immediate aftermath. Thousands more were exposed to the toxic conditions at Ground Zero and would spend the years that followed battling serious illnesses connected to their service.

Twenty-five years later, the sacrifice of September 11th, 2001, is still being felt.

Today, the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police remembers the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11th, 2001. We honor the law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, military members, rescue workers, and ordinary Americans who answered the call that day.

We also remember those who survived, but continued to carry the physical and emotional cost of that service long afterward.

Six Colorado Parks and Wildlife team members were recently recognized by South Metro Fire Rescue and AdventHealth Littleton following their coordinated response to a serious boating emergency at Chatfield State Park.

Seasonal Park Officer Danny Brown, Park Officer Kennedy Miller, Park Manager Ben Vinci, Park Resource Technician Tyler Clark, Seasonal Park Officer Catherine Staley and Seasonal Boating Assistant Tyler Sagar helped bring the injured boater safely to shore, control life-threatening bleeding and support patient care until fire-rescue personnel arrived.

The Colorado FOP was proud to sponsor a softball team at Saturday’s 16th Annual Donnie Young Softball Tournament.

Donnie was a valued member of CDIA, and this annual tournament honors his memory while supporting an incredibly important cause. All proceeds benefit the CDIA Survivors Benefit Fund, which provides financial assistance to the families of fallen police officers across Colorado.

While our team didn’t bring home the win, we had a great time playing for a great cause! We’re proud to support the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and to honor Donnie’s legacy.

Colorado, National Night Out is almost here.

On Tuesday, August 4th, law-enforcement agencies across our state will gather with neighbors for block parties, family activities, safety demonstrations and conversations that help build stronger relationships.

From Adams County and Fort Lupton to Lafayette and communities throughout Colorado, these events offer families an opportunity to meet local public-safety professionals and celebrate the shared responsibility of keeping our neighborhoods safe.

The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police was proud to sponsor a golf foursome at the annual Alexa Bartell Foundation Golf Tournament yesterday.

The tournament honors the life and legacy of Alexa Bartell, a bright, loving, and joyful 20-year-old whose life was tragically taken in a senseless act of violence. Though Alexa’s life was cut far too short, the compassion and joy she brought to others continue through the work being done in her name.

The Alexa Bartell Foundation carries her legacy forward by supporting causes that were close to her heart, including animal welfare, opportunities for young girls who share her love of basketball, and mental health resources for first responders.

We are especially grateful to Kelly Bartell for the strength, determination, and love she has shown in honoring her daughter. Through the Foundation, Kelly and Alexa’s family have turned an unimaginable loss into a lasting effort to help others and ensure Alexa’s memory continues to make a difference.

It was an honor to join Alexa’s family, friends, and so many supporters for a day dedicated to remembering her life and supporting the causes she cared about.

The Colorado FOP looks forward to continuing our partnership with the Alexa Bartell Foundation and supporting its mission in the years ahead.

Alexa’s legacy lives on through every life touched in her name.
