These meetings provide opportunities for individuals to share their personal experiences and to lean into our community. We offer several specialty groups, including those for individuals living with ALS, Caregiver Support, Bereavement, and Community-focused support groups.

ALS United Rocky Mountain believes precision matters as much as progress in ALS research, which is why we're proud to support Illuminate: Precision Medicine.

Precision therapeutics in ALS are not defined by how many people they are intended to help.
Some are designed for small groups with a rare, disease-causing genetic variant. Others target biology found across much of ALS.

This range reflects how differently precision therapeutics can be developed. But identifying a shared target does not mean everyone will respond in the same way. Whether a therapy benefits someone also depends on what aspect of the biology it targets, whether it reaches and engages that target, when treatment begins, and whether changing that biology meaningfully affects the course of disease.

A therapy does not become less precise simply because it could help more people. The precision lies in using biology to shape the treatment and determine who it is intended for.
