Veterans, this Saturday is for you 🪖

The Carroll County Veterans Independence Project is hosting a free Health Resource Fair for Veterans and their families at 46 Monroe St in Westminster from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

Local health and wellness organizations will be there with free resources and support services. S.L.A.M. Snow Cones is bringing free snowballs too!

CCVIP gives local Veterans who don't drive a ride to their appointments. They also help navigate benefits, health care, and housing. We will have a table there as well, so come say hi!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our fellow Veteran and friend, Donald G. Jestes, a Vietnam Veteran, who passed away late Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

Born June 2, 1948, Don dedicated a part of his life to serving our country, and to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, he was so much more than a Veteran—he was a great man, a friend, and someone who will be deeply missed.

We have lost a true hero and a valued member of our Veteran community. His service, his kindness, and the memories he created with those around him will never be forgotten.

Please join us in keeping Don’s family, friends, and fellow Veterans in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Don. You will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Another month of meaningful service is in the books, and we’re proud to share the impact made throughout September.

Because of the dedication of our volunteers, community partners, and supporters, we were able to continue connecting Veterans and their families with the resources, advocacy, and support they need.

September Impact:

• 132.5 volunteer hours dedicated to serving our community
• 19 Veterans and family members connected with our program for the first time
• 150 VA claims prepared and submitted to help Veterans access the benefits they’ve earned
• 76 counseling and peer support sessions provided to offer guidance, encouragement, and advocacy

Every number represents a person, a family, or a Veteran taking an important step toward receiving the support they deserve.

Thank you to everyone who makes this work possible. Your time, compassion, and continued support help us strengthen our community and remind every Veteran that they are never alone.
