Hello TLS Flock,
After 18 years of serving the parrot community by providing loving homes and rehabilitation to birds in need, it is with a heavy heart that we announce The Lily Sanctuary is going on hiatus effective January 1, 2021.
The last couple of years have been rough with our changeover, the move from OC, Exotic Newcastle's Disease and the pandemic. We fought hard to continue our mission but the challenges became increasingly harder to overcome. We are truly grateful to every single supporter; our final fundraiser allowed us to honor our outstanding bill to our amazing vet.
I personally want to thank our founders, Venette and Dan Hill, for having the vision and drive to help vulnerable birds, and Jennifer and Jason D'Angelo for continuing that mission. It is not an easy endeavor but a labor of love. We celebrate the hundreds of birds that have found happy homes, the many friends we made, the brilliant volunteers that worked tirelessly, and the incredible memories that have been created. We did it all for the birds. We cannot stress enough how you, the most astounding supporters, made a difference by giving endlessly to birds in need.
If you can, please continue to support other local parrot rescues in Southern California (we will post a list in the next few days). From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and please always remember, LILY LOVES YOU.
