The 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award honors Amanda DeRose for her exceptional dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on Carroll Community College and its students.

A proud Carroll alumna, Amanda has served the College community since 2013, growing from a part-time employee to the College’s first Assistant Director of Student Engagement. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success, belonging, and community engagement.

Amanda’s contributions have shaped countless student experiences, including launching Frostie’s Program in the Food Locker, creating an annual music festival supporting student scholarships, expanding service-learning opportunities, and revitalizing the Pappalardo Honors Program. Her leadership, mentorship, and passion for creating a welcoming campus culture continue to make a meaningful difference across the College community.

We are proud to recognize Amanda DeRose as the 2026 Distinguished Alumna and celebrate her continued service, leadership, and dedication to Carroll Community College.

The 2026 Carroll Community College Emeritus Awards honor two extraordinary individuals whose leadership, service, and dedication have made a lasting impact on our students, faculty, and community.

Dr. Jody Nusholtz is recognized for her exceptional career as a professor, mentor, and innovator. Throughout her time at Carroll, she championed student success through inspiring instruction, success coaching, faculty development, and wellness-centered initiatives that strengthened both learning and campus culture. Her leadership in trauma-informed and mind-body education helped position Carroll as a statewide leader in holistic student support.

Steve Wantz is honored for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing the College’s mission through philanthropy, partnerships, and student-centered initiatives. His work with the Carroll Community College Foundation expanded opportunities for scholarships, workforce training, technology, and academic programs, leaving a profound and enduring legacy across the institution.

We are deeply grateful to Jody and Steve for their years of service, leadership, and impact. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Honoring Excellence: SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society Induction at Carroll Community College

On, Friday, May 1, Carroll Community College was incredibly proud to host the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, where we are officially welcoming three new inductees into this prestigious circle of academic and military excellence.

Carroll is dedicated to the success of our student veterans through a robust network of resources. This includes our active Student Veteran Organization (SVO), a dedicated Student Veteran Resource Center on campus, and vital connections to specialized resources throughout the community.

The Foundation is a proud supporter of veteran activities on campus. We are deeply grateful to our donors whose generosity sustains these worthwhile programs, ensuring our student veterans have the tools they need to thrive in their transition to civilian and academic life.
