lesson 5 breakdown ↓

β€œThe First Marriage”
Genesis 2:18-25

Central Idea: God designed human relationships to reflect His relational character
❖ Genesis 2:18-20 | God’s design for us is not a problem or a weakness
➒ We need one another in order to bear God’s relational image and likeness
➒ God is omniscient - we get to learn
➒ Work is good, but it was never meant to substitute for true fellowship

❖ Genesis 2:21-22a | Our relationships are meant to be centered on God
➒ God sovereignly brings people into our lives
➒ God-centered relationships involve self-giving love
➒ Men and women have wonderful differences, but God created us with equal
value and dignity

❖ Genesis 2:22b-25 | Marriage is God’s good idea
➒ Marriage is a physical and spiritual union
➒ Marriage is a public and private commitment
➒ God intended marriage to be shamelessly intimate

Challenge: Will you embrace your calling to reflect God’s relational character in your human relationships?

think about…

what life might be like in the new, redeemed earth. Imagine a world full of all the best of human culture – dazzling works of art, gripping musical performances, exquisite culinary, masterpieces, electrifying communal celebrations – no longer marred by sin and brokenness. Imagine endless opportunities to engage in creative, deeply fulfilling work that reveals God’s splendor without any fear, frustration, or conflict. Culture’s trivialized picture of a heaven with people floating on clouds and playing harps doesn’t begin to convey the wonders God has prepared for his people in eternity. As 1 Corinthians 2:9 puts it, β€œNo eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (NLT)

lesson 4 breakdown ↓

β€œLife in the Garden”
Genesis 2:4-17

Central Idea: We were made for harmonious relationship with our Creator
❖ Genesis 2:4-7 | We were made for connection and reflection
➒ We were made for covenant with God
➒ We were made for God’s glory

❖ Genesis 2:8-14 | We were made to depend on God
➒ God provides His presence and His peace
➒ God provides bounty and beauty

❖ Genesis 2:9b, 15-17 | We were made for obedience
➒ Man was made to care for and cultivate God’s creation
➒ Man was made to trust and obey

Challenge: Will you choose to rest in your harmonious relationship with the Lord and glorify Him
in all you do??

God is moving in Guatemala πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ή
Β
This year, 97 teenagers gathered for Champions in Action’s Boys Camp, where their days were filled with devotionals, worship, soccer, community, and time in God’s Word.
Β
By the end of the week, the impact went far beyond the activities:
Β
23 teenagers accepted Jesus as their Savior.
33 reconciled their relationship with God.
27 made the decision to be baptized.
Β
Community Bible Study is grateful for the opportunity to support Champions in Action by providing materials that help these teens explore the Bible together.
Β
Please join in praying for these teenagers as they continue to follow Jesus.
