Sometimes, the smallest things make the biggest difference.

We include a meal with each care package we deliver. It can feel like a small part of everything that goes into supporting a family, but then we hear something like this:

“Thank you so [much]—what a nice touch with the dinner. I was just trying to figure out what I was going to do and you solved that for me. And wow, this is just total awesomeness—all these wonderful things!! So greatly appreciated!!!”

When a family welcomes a new child into their home, there is a lot to navigate all at once. New routines. New needs. New emotions. A lot of unknowns.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, everyone still needs to eat.

Providing dinner means one less decision to make. One less thing to figure out. One small way we can say, we see you, and we’re here to support your whole family through this transition.

It may just be a meal. But sometimes, a meal arrives at exactly the right moment 💙

We're catching up on some gratitude that deserves to be shared.

Earlier this year, we received an unexpected $5,000 donation from the Flogistix Charitable Giving Fund. This gift came during a season when the need was growing quickly and we were working hard to keep up with the number of children and families reaching out for support.

To say we are grateful feels like an understatement.

A gift like this helps us respond quickly when a child is placed in a foster or kinship home. It helps provide brand-new clothing, shoes, pajamas, hygiene supplies, comfort items, meals, and encouragement for families navigating those first urgent days of a new placement.

It helps us say yes.

A little look back at our most recent Bright Spot Connection Event at Harbor Church 💙

This morning was made possible by so many people showing up with one shared goal: creating a space where foster, adoptive, and kinship families could feel supported, connected, and cared for.

The kids spent the morning playing, creating, and learning more about Casa de la Esperanza, while our incredible volunteers made sure they were welcomed, encouraged, and had a great time.

Meanwhile, caregivers had a chance to connect and enjoy a parent mixer hosted by Colorado Kids Belong. They enjoyed smoothie bowls, pastries, coffee, conversation, and plenty of school supplies to take home.

And a big thanks to Chick-fil-A for ensuring every child and volunteer ended the morning with lunch.

We’re incredibly grateful for every volunteer, partner, and supporter who helped to make the morning possible. Bright Spot continues to remind us how meaningful it can be when a community comes together to care for the whole family.

We’re still taking in all that Impact Night meant to us.

What an incredible gift it was to gather in one room with people who have supported The Haven Impact in so many different ways: longtime volunteers, donors, foster families, friends, partners, and people who are just beginning to learn about this mission.

We were especially honored to hear from a foster parent and her kiddo, who shared openly about their experiences and the difference it can make when support shows up during a new placement. Their words were a powerful reminder of why we do this work and who it is ultimately for.

The response since that evening has been incredibly encouraging. New gifts have already allowed us to restock needed items, prepare for upcoming care packages, and step into the next request with greater confidence. We’ve also had new monthly donors join us, new conversations begin, and people asking how they can help. What a blessing!

None of this happens because of one person.

It happens because people keep showing up. Some have been showing up for years and some are just stepping into this circle of support. Every volunteer hour, every gift, every introduction, every prayer, every shared post, and every act of encouragement helps make this work possible.

We are deeply grateful and humbled by the support surrounding The Haven Impact. We can’t wait to keep widening the circle and see where the mission goes next.

Much gratitude to 4imprint for choosing The Haven Impact as a recipient of their one by one grant!

Thanks to their generosity, we were able to stock up on some great duffle bags for kids entering foster and kinship care- giving us one more practical way to help make those first days feel a little more supported.

We had the pleasure of attending the Community Connects Service Fair on Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many different church communities come together to support local nonprofits.

We came home with LOTS of socks, as well as some hygiene supplies, snack bags, and handmade blankets. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported us 🫶

There’s something extra special about a gift made by hand. 🧶🪡

We are so grateful to Project Linus for donating six bags of beautiful handmade blankets to help stock our care packages! Each one will be tucked into a duffle for a child entering a new foster or kinship home. It will be a soft, tangible reminder that people in their community are thinking of them and want them to feel cared for.

A heartfelt thank you to Project Linus and the incredible community members who give their time and talents to lovingly make these blankets. Your generosity allows us to place something truly special into the hands of children when they need a little extra comfort. We’re honored to help pass that love along. 🫶

We’re so excited to host another Bright Spot Connection Event in collaboration with Harbor Church, while Colorado Kids Belong will be hosting a special mixer for parents and caregivers!
