Wigs For Kids These are gifted to recipient families at no cost to them. We never charge the family to create these Hair Replacement Systems. Grey and White hair are accepted.

Wigs for Kids is a non-profit organization that seeks to serve children experiencing medical hair loss by creating Hair Replacement Systems made from real hair. For more than 30 years, Wigs for Kids has been providing Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues. Wigs for Kids runs hair donation programs in order to create wigs made from real hair for children in need. We accept hair donations that are 12 or more inches. We cannot accept any chemically treated or colored hair.

A teacher who gives it all... even her hair. ✂️

For World Teachers’ Day, we’re celebrating Mrs. Danielle Schafer of Benzie Central High School, a teacher who is passionate about her students and always looking for ways to support them.

Mrs. Schafer teaches U.S. History, Civics & AP Human Geography, but her impact reaches far beyond the classroom. This isn’t the first time she has shaved her head for her students.. Seven years ago, when one of her students was battling cancer and their family needed help with medical expenses, she shaved her head to help raise money for their family.

At just 7 years old, Eleanor was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. She endured a 15-hour surgery, radiation, and six months of chemotherapy. Along the way, she lost her hair and a visible piece of her childhood.

But Ellie had something she couldn’t wait to get back: her braids. 🎗️

Ellie didn’t walk this journey alone. Through the Wigs For Kids Recipient Program, volunteer stylist Donna Beeba of Donna’s Suite helped with her measurements, fitting, and styling, and guided Ellie and her family on how to care for and maintain her free hairpiece!

When she saw herself with her new hair, she was beaming, feeling like herself again.

Emmy's story begins when she was just 11 years old, when her hairstylist, Phillip Bell, cut her hair and Emmy saved that ponytail. Today, that same hair is an incredible 24 inches long and ready to begin a whole new chapter!

But Emmy’s connection to hair loss runs even deeper. Her mother developed alopecia while pregnant with Emmy and never regained her hair. Years later, Emmy faced her own journey with cancer. Diagnosed with tongue cancer in 1999, she has battled the disease four times, ultimately undergoing radiation treatment.

Now, at 83, she is turning something she has carried with her for most of her life into a gift for a child who needs it. 🥹💛

This incredible donation is now a part of Jenna Bear Big Daddy Hair Repo! As the host of this nationwide Cut-A-Thon, Jenna is working toward an amazing goal of collecting 394 pounds of hair and raising $10K.

After 20 years of long hair, Danny Jacob decided it was time for a change. 🤘

But this wasn’t just a haircut.

Danny is a Radiation Dosimetrist, where he works alongside oncologists to create 3D radiation treatment plans, including for pediatric cancer patients. So, he knows firsthand how much a cancer diagnosis can change a child’s world.

Janie’s Story: From Alopecia to Growing to Give 💙

After years of living with alopecia and wearing wigs, Janie finally reached a moment she never thought she’d have: growing her own hair long enough to donate it.

She knows firsthand how deeply hair loss can affect confidence, identity, and how you see yourself. Now, she’s turning that experience into something meaningful for another child by giving the hair she worked so hard to grow. ✂️🫶

💙 Sometimes the person you’re cheering for is also cheering for you. ❤️

For Wigs For Kids recipient Emerson, Buffalo Bills player Landon Jackson isn’t just someone she watches on the football field.

He’s someone who understands.

Emerson and Landon share the experience of living with alopecia. Through that connection, they’ve built a special friendship rooted in encouragement, confidence and being proud of who you are.

Just a few weeks ago, Emerson got to see Landon again at Bills Training Camp. She cheered him on throughout practice and, judging by that smile, couldn’t have been happier to spend time with her friend again. 🥹💙🏈

Tonight, she’ll be cheering again, only this time it’s GAME NIGHT! 🦬

We love what Emerson and Landon’s friendship represents for children experiencing hair loss:
