Westlake/North Olmsted August 8 “Day of Action”:
In honor of the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act 1965, twenty LWV volunteers gathered at Westlake Porter Public Library to write 500 postcards to newly naturalized and registered voters across Greater Cleveland. It was a great afternoon with dedicated card writers and postage donors. Thanks to all attendees!

Do you know any students headed off to college? Encourage them to apply for a Vote-by-Mail ballot TODAY for the November 3 election. It's not too early! Their ballot will be mailed to them at college in October. Early voting begins October 6.

Voting by mail is a great option for college students and everyone. Go to voteohio.gov to get an application to request an absentee ballot.

Lakewood Schools settles lawsuit over Lincoln Elementary repurposing
“Under the settlement, the board will revisit its October 2025 vote -- which included ending the neighborhood preschool program, redrawing all elementary school attendance boundaries, relocating special education program locations and repurposing Lincoln Elementary into an early childhood center -- and conduct a new, fully public process.”

The saga involving the Lakewood Board of Education’s plans to repurpose Lincoln Elementary School has taken yet another unexpected turn.
