The Parkerville Board of Directors and friends are a dedicated team, monitoring and attending to maintenance issues as they surface. This village schoolhouse is an historic treasure of the Town of Westford. It is in good hands. With the help of volunteers, more than 10,000 third-graders have participated in its “Old School Day” living history field trip. It has now been 30 years that Westford’s third-graders have brought the schoolhouse alive. Featured are dip-pen writing, ‘rithmatic on slates, marching to the wind-up Victrola, old-fashioned games and local history. Period clothing and lunches highlight the scene, reminiscent of “Little House on the Prairie.”

As Friends of Parkerville Schoolhouse, Inc., and charged with its maintenance, we solicit help for clean-up days or short-term projects and monetary gifts. Although the Town owns and insures the building, the Friends’ projects in support of the schoolhouse are done at no cost to the Town.

The Friends of the Pakerville Schoolhouse are running their annual fundraising drive. With your donations we complete various upkeep on the schoolhouse and support the living history program. This past year donations were used to repair the window shades, replace the outdoor American Flag and repair some exterior floor boards.
