2026 Westford Conservation Trust Scholarships
This spring the Trust was pleased to honor five graduating seniors with scholarships. In addition to strong academic records, the students sought a variety of opportunities to demonstrate leadership, creativity and community outreach.
The Trust wishes the scholarship recipients well and is pleased to acknowledge their hard work and ambitions. Read more about these well deserving students on our website at https://westfordconservationtrust.org/congratulations-to-our-2026-trust-scholarship-awardees/

A huge thanks to Ribbon Communications volunteers who worked on two parcels/trails in Westford. The first was the Peace Trail where Trust President Rich Strazdas noted "A good time was had by all on the Peace Trail. Enthusiastic volunteers did all that was asked and more. Most of my time was spent with three capable guys who not only replaced three boards on a trail bridge, but repurposed a used board to fix a fourth one. They then leveled the end of the bridge which was sagging, by repositioning cement blocks and adding rocks.. A very satisfying effort. The group photo was taken on the completed bridge."
Our second parcel was at Lyberty Way led by trust volunteer Tom Jrolfe. 'We had 23 energetic volunteers today to clear and cleanup the Lyberty Way trail. They cut and moved 4 large trees that lay across the trail. They also moved another 3 smaller trees off the trail. They also picked up 5 large bags of litter and trimmed many branches and vegetation. The trail is in much better condition thanks to Ribbon Communications. They were a fun and cooperative group!'

The Westford Conservation Trust would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! Thanks to our members and supporters, the trust was able to accomplish many of our goals in 2025. Sharing this photo from our Annual Meeting with VP Mark Minnucci presenting Beatrice Chaney with our Conservation Trustee Award for 2025. Beartrice helped add to our land conservation objectives with her donation of 2.75 acres of open space to the trust.
We also provided monthly hikes and our fun fall mushroom ID walk. Our Tuesday Trail Crew worked hard on our many trails in Westford along with our trail crew who cleared many trees on trails. We provided education and outreach via mentorship of WA senior Capstone student project and scout trail work/projects; several corporate volunteer trail projects & Nashoba Tech trail work day of service. Our trust scholarship recipients were awarded a total of $3000. Our Invasive Species volunteers worked hard to control Mile a minute at multiple sites this summer. Pollinator habitat was maintained and supported as well.
Thanks again for all the support!!
