Thank you to everyone who donated and shopped at our August rummage sale! It was a lot of work, but we made valuable funds to continue helping our feline neighbors.

We can't do what we do without the support of our community.

LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL NEEDS FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME: Meet Tulip (Aka Mama), she has had a rough go of things but has been a fighter from the get go. She arrived through our TNR program but with newborns Tulip and was not ready to be spayed and returned. As she cared for her little ones we noticed she had some cloudiness and swelling in her eyes and it was progressing quickly along with developing fluid pockets throughout her body. She was such a caring mom, yet still nervous around people so we spoke with her original caretaker and it was unanimous we all needed to give her a chance. She was surrendered to Feline Friends and we were able to get her in for a checkup, bloodwork and xrays right away. But at her checkup it was determined she needed both eyes out and quickly as the swelling was rapidly progressing. She was a trooper after surgery still caring for her kittens as she seeked them out once back in her foster home. When the biopsy of her eyes came back it was a surprise she had blasto, a fungal infection that is not often seen in cats. She was started on an antifungal medication and within a couple weeks we could see the changes. Her fluid pockets were dissipating and she was healing nicely from her double eye removal. Even with recently becoming blind she continued to take in kittens needing a mother figure and so generously tolerated their rambunctious kitten energy. Now she hangs out in foster with one of our staff members. We are looking for a special kind of place for her to settle into while she finishes her treatment, its easy peasy 1 tablet mixed in wet food once a day. Since her treatment is a bit long we are hoping to find a foster to adopt home for her so she can settle into a home, a routine and figure out the layout of the home and once her meds are finished and shes cleared by the medical team she can be officially adopted by her foster. She has since became a snuggle bug and loves her cat tree. She initially will hiss when introduced to others, probably because she cant see them coming, but seems to quickly settle in and enjoy the company of a Feline friend. She has started playing with toys with bells in them but seems to like just exploring the house and lounging on the couch, bed, her cat tree, in your lap or better yet across your shoulders and back. If Tulip (Mama) tugged at your heartstrings and you'd like to apply to foster to adopt her please reach out via our adoption application below.

Have you met Larry! Well he is a velcro kitty that loves to talk. He is a top notch supervisor to our office staff and even has his own chair that he monitors our work efficiency and treat distribution from. He likes his head and shoulders pet the most, not so much on the butt scratches. He is a single guy and likes it that way so he would need to be the only pet in the home. If you are looking for a talker, a watcher and a down right fun guy apply for Larry. He's located at the shelter location in Westfield.

Ram (black) and Bug (dilute tortie) have made it to the adoption center and are having a ball playing with all the new toys. They arrived as little babies being co-parented by mom's Sierra and Cadi (who were recently adopted together). You may notice Bug has a slight head tilt as that came about when she was young. It doesn't slow her down one bit and makes her parkouring abilities all the more fun to watch. She is a speed demon 🏎 that loves toys and let's everyone else know they are hers for the taking. Ram is a playful and snuggly guy. He plays well with everyone but has been hanging out with one of our young adults Thumb Tack lately and they are awfully cute together.

Thumb Tack is also part of the 3 cats that were dumped at the end of a driveway and brought in by a good Samaritan. In his foster home he became playful and quick to zoom around the room always on the go. He is now at our PetSmart adoption center and he has taken a liking to the kittens. We think he would do great in a home with an active cat or kittens. He can be initially a bit nervous but seems to thrive on the chaos when all the kittens start running every which way and batting toys around, he gets right in the mix watching them zoom around him. If you don't mind giving some time to let Thumb Tack settle in and have a playful friend to bring him out of his shell follow the link below to apply. And watch the comments section for more pictures of Thumb Tack being his best self.🤍
