We are one

Golden orange beams of twilight filter through the window pane, falling across the floor in vivid, shimmering patterns.

As I gaze at them, a stillness rises from within. Some places on the ground shine bright, where the light passes through clear glass. Other places look dull or distorted, where the glass is stained with dust. Yet even those imperfections are seen only because the light is behind them. Where the glass is clear, we no longer notice the glass. We see only the brilliance.

And then comes a quiet recognition: it is one light, from one source, shining through all these many forms.
In that recognition, joy takes over. We are one.

Amidst ordinary lies the extraordinary

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, spoke of "samansya asamansya", reminding us that amidst ordinary lies the extraordinary. The beauty is revealed in the moments, when mind becomes silent, transparent.

The soft dance of leaves, their shadows moving across a wall, warm sunlight filtering through them. There is a simple joy in just witnessing it. In Japanese, this gentle play of light through trees is called Komorebi.

It draws the attention inward. For a moment, everything becomes still. We begin to experience life as it is, here and now.

The shadows keep changing, but behind them is the steady light. Our lives are also made of fleeting moments. When we are lost only in following the movement, we may feel overwhelmed. But when we become aware of the light behind it all, we can begin to enjoy the play.

Pause for a moment and witness the beauty around you.

Every ordinary moment carries this invitation. When we see the light behind the shadows, the ordinary becomes sacred, and joy reveals itself naturally.

Joy is the nature of our true Self. It is the quiet radiance of our own being, though in ordinary awareness it is often hidden, like the sun behind clouds.

Not knowing the treasure within, we search for joy in the world. We chase desires, hoping the next thing will finally bring lasting happiness. But what comes from outside is always passing.

Slowly, we begin to see that the objects of desire are not the true source of joy. What we really long for is the stillness between two desires, that quiet pause where one wish has faded and another has not yet risen. In that space, we taste something of our own being.

As meditation deepens and inner silence grows, the joy of the Self begins to shine more clearly. The mind becomes calm and transparent, like a still lake reflecting the beauty around it.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! 🌹

When I first came across Sahaja Yoga, what touched me most about Shri Mataji was her genuineness, her simplicity without any facade, and her deep love and concern for seekers of truth.

Having been a spiritual seeker since childhood, I had read many books and followed many paths. Along the way, I also saw how easily seekers can be misled by wrong gurus, through intellectual confusion, emotional dependence, or compromises with the basic principles of genuine spiritual growth.

In Shri Mataji, I found something completely different. She did not complicate spirituality with jargon or empty promises. She called a spade a spade, never compromised on spiritual fundamentals, and above all, emphasized the actual experience of Self-realization rather than endless discussion about it.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation felt like a breath of fresh air. It brought clarity, inner experience, and an enduring transformation that has continued to grow within me over time. For me, the true test of any spiritual path is whether it makes us more peaceful, joyful, balanced, collective, and capable of helping and transforming others. This is what I found in Sahaja Yoga Meditation.

So, if you are a seeker, I would simply say: try it with an open mind and sincere desire. Be your own inner scientist and see for yourself. The truth has to be experienced within.
