Yesterday, Westfield Education Foundation joined nonprofits from across Hamilton County for LEAD Local, hosted by the Hamilton County Nonprofit Collective and supported by the Hamilton County Community Foundation.

💚 We loved sharing more about WEF, meeting people ready to get involved, and connecting with organizations doing great work across our county.

Thank you for bringing our nonprofit community together and helping turn interest into engagement!

🌱 Another grant making a BIG impact! ☘️

Amy McClelland from Maple Glen Elementary used her WEF grant to purchase grow-light plant towers and supplies for the Rocks Produce Project Garden Club, kindergarten marigold growing, and a first-grade microgreens unit.

The impact grew beyond the classroom! Students took their microgreens home, sharing what they learned with their families and encouraging healthy eating. 💚 All first-grade teachers are already asking to do the project again next year!

Parents shared:
💚 “My daughter loves her microgreens and still takes really good care of them.”
💚 “My daughter is loving this! She talks about it every day.”

This is the power of teacher grants—turning great ideas into meaningful learning experiences! 🍀

We are incredibly grateful for this generous grant! 💚 The teachers and students of WWS deserve every single dollar, and we’re honored to support the amazing work happening in our schools. Thank you for investing in our students and educators! 📚☘️

I am pleased to announce that our Advancing Westfield Foundation has awarded $499,000 in grant funding to 22 organizations serving our Westfield community. These grants represent the heart of what the Advancing Westfield Foundation was created to do — support the organizations that are meeting real needs in our community. From youth development and mental health to food insecurity and senior support, these organizations are making a meaningful difference in the lives of Westfield residents. We are grateful for their work and proud to invest in their continued impact.

☘️ Another Grant Making a Difference! 📚✨

Valerie Ferry, a kindergarten teacher at Carey Ridge Elementary, used her WEF grant to purchase materials for purposeful play that connected to her CKLA unit themes.

Students loved using the materials to bring the stories they were reading to life—acting them out, reinforcing key concepts, and learning through play! 🎭📖

This is the power of teacher grants: giving educators the resources to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences. 💚

☘️ Grants That Make a Difference!

Here’s a great example of a grant making a real difference in the classroom! 📚✨

Last year, Shannon Miller from Westfield Intermediate School used her grant to purchase copies of A Street Through Time and A City Through Time. These are two visually engaging history resources that brought social studies to life for students.

These picture books helped make social studies more accessible, memorable, and engaging for all learners. Students were able to use the highly visual resources to better understand social studies standards while also practicing important skills like analyzing evidence, comparing perspectives, and thinking critically about change over time.

This is exactly what our teacher grants are all about—supporting creative, teacher-driven ideas that enhance learning and help students thrive! 💚

The 2026–27 Fall Teacher Grant application is OPEN!
WWS teachers can apply for up to $1,000 to support innovative ideas that promote student growth, increase engagement, and elevate classroom learning.

📅 Application Deadline: September 14 at 5:00 p.m.
