We’re excited to announce a very special Spotlight event: "Unlocking Creative Superpowers with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige"

Join us on Thursday, July 23, at 6 PM for an exclusive evening with the Westfield High School alumn and the creative force behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the highest-grossing film franchise of all time. Moderated by Westfield native Garrett Vogel of the Z100 Morning Show, the conversation will explore Feige’s journey from Westfield to Hollywood, including the creative and leadership decisions that helped shape one of the most influential storytelling franchises in history.

Guests will enjoy signature Spider-Man-inspired cocktails and elevated appetizers, watch the live virtual conversation with Feige, and wrap up the evening with a themed dessert reception, all while supporting the Rialto Reimagined campaign.

This one-night-only experience also makes a great Father’s Day gift for Marvel fans and movie lovers alike! Tickets are available now on our website.

*Please note: Kevin will be virtual, but this is an IN-PERSON event for attendees.

It was a pleasure to welcome community partners to the Rialto for the Westfield Foundation’s Coffee, Connection & Collaboration event last month!

The gathering created an opportunity for nonprofit leaders from across the community to network and spark conversations that can lead to strong relationships and future partnerships. Thank you to the Westfield Foundation for hosting this meaningful event and to everyone who joined us. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to open our doors and be part of an experience dedicated to strengthening the connections that help our community move forward.

For many people working remotely or on hybrid schedules, there’s growing value in spaces that offer connection outside the home office. The Rialto Center for Creativity will offer a place to step out of the daily routine and spend time in a more connected environment.

Some may stop in during the day to work from the café, while others may visit in the evening for a performance, lecture, workshop, or community event. It will become a place to exchange ideas and experience creativity as part of everyday life.

Over time, the Rialto Center for Creativity will become part of the rhythm of the workweek, offering remote professionals a place to reset and engage with new ideas while staying connected to the local community.

The Rialto Center for Creativity is supported through a combination of individual donors, local foundations, county support, and State of New Jersey grants.

Significant private donations, support from generous local foundations, and anticipated funding through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s Cultural Arts Facilities Expansion (CAFE) Program have provided major momentum for this project. As we work toward our projected 2028 opening, additional fundraising through community campaigns and interim events remains an important part of bringing the Rialto Center for Creativity to life.

Built in 1922 during the height of movie theater construction, the Rialto was designed to make going to the movies feel like an experience in itself.

For decades, the theater served as a gathering place in downtown Westfield, welcoming audiences into a space built for entertainment and community. That legacy continues to shape the future of the Rialto Center for Creativity as we reimagine this historic building into a multidisciplinary space for live performances, hands-on workshops, classes, lectures, film screenings, conversations, and more.

The impact of arts and culture extends far beyond the stage, which is part of why projects like the Rialto Center for Creativity matter to communities. According to a report by Americans for the Arts, nonprofit arts and culture organizations and their audiences generated $151.7 billion in economic activity in 2022. The report also found that the sector supported 2.6 million jobs and provided $101 billion in personal income to residents across the country.

As we work toward the Rialto Center for Creativity’s projected 2028 opening, studies like this reinforce the importance of creative spaces in strengthening local communities and downtown economies.

Inspiration is one of the core values guiding the future of the Rialto Center for Creativity. We believe creative spaces should spark curiosity and introduce people to new perspectives, so this space is being designed as a place where performances, workshops, exhibitions, and conversations will help people discover new interests and engage with ideas that continue shaping the way they see the world.

We look forward to bringing that vision to Westfield with our projected opening in 2028.
