Friends of Brightwood Park is a NJ Non-Profit Corporation created by concerned citizens who are passionate about Brightwood Park, Westfield’s Nature Preserve. Our mission is:

• To preserve and protect Brightwood Park including working to remove invasive plant species and regenerate native wildflowers and trees;
• To educate our community about the history of the park and the flora and fauna that

inhabit it;
• To encourage passive activities in the park that respect nature and the sanctuary that a nature preserve offers. The Friends of Brightwood Park acknowledge that hiking and walking trails and nature parks are highly valued to the Westfield community for recreation and seek to ensure the park will offer these opportunities to future generations. In the spirit of Noel Taylor, who worked to create this gem, we believe that the park should remain a sanctuary for those seeking nature. As Taylor wrote:

"A quiet sanctuary for all lovers of nature where one can relax and listen to the sounds of nature, enjoy its beauty or begin to understand the lesson that man depends on wildlife for survival. If one understands that man does depend on nature for his existence, one can also understand that man cannot continue to subdue the whole planet earth.

Friends of Brightwood Park 5th Birthday Celebration 🌳🎉
The day is filled with fun activities & events for all ages!

Families are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, enjoy complimentary cupcakes provided by the Friends of Brightwood Park and participate in fun activities (including...corn hole, large jenga, cam jam, tic tack toe & more)🧁🛝

This is a family event & children must be accompanied by an adult at all times 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

• Tamaques Park: Meet at tennis courts
• Brightwood Park: Meet at parking lot (entrance off Prospect Street)
• Clark Memorial Park: Meet at intersection of East Dudley & Tuttle Parkway
Families, teens, Girl/Boy Scout troops, and others are welcome 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒
