We’re excited to share an opportunity to help bring 22 units of permanent, affordable housing for veterans to Westfield, New Jersey.

The Foundation for Sustainable Veteran Housing is working with the Westfield NJ Veterans Organization to redevelop the historic Martin Wallberg American Legion Post No. 3 into affordable housing for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness, along with a new Legion Hall and community space.

The apartments will serve veterans earning below 50% of Area Median Income and provide access to supportive services, including counseling, job placement assistance, and connections to the VA.

With $6.3 million in public funding already committed, we are partnering with LENDonate to secure the remaining financing needed to move the project forward.

This is an opportunity to make an investment with purpose—helping provide veterans with safe, stable housing while strengthening the Westfield community.

We're honored to share that Foundation for Sustainable Veteran Housing has been awarded a $1,500 grant from The Westfield Foundation through the Herberich Fund to support a summer intern position.
This investment will help provide a young person with meaningful work experience, valuable professional skills, and the opportunity to contribute to our mission of serving veterans and their families.

We're grateful to The Westfield Foundation for recognizing the importance of workforce development, community partnerships, and creating opportunities that benefit both students and the organizations they serve.
