The Westfield Library Foundation is proud to bring Edgar Award-winning novelist Mindy McGinnis to the Westfield Washington Public Library on November 16!

From post-apocalyptic fiction and fantasy to thrillers and mysteries, McGinnis knows how to keep readers turning pages! She's the author of How Girls Are Made, Under This Rock, and Heroine, among many others.

Join us for an opportunity to hear from this talented storyteller and learn more about the inspiration behind her books!

Behind the Brick 🧱

For Lisa McCleskey and her husband, Dave, the library became a place of comfort after Dave suffered an unexpected stroke in 2025. An avid reader who once finished 20 books a year, Dave suddenly struggled to read even one page. Still, they kept coming to the library because simply being there brought encouragement during some very dark months.

When words failed them, their prayer became: “Let There Be Light.” So when Lisa had the opportunity to purchase a brick, she knew exactly what it should say — a reminder to everyone who walks the path to always look for the light.

The Westfield Library Foundation has received a $25,000 grant from the Advancing Westfield Foundation to support our work on behalf of the Westfield Washington Public Library and our community.

Flu and COVID-19 vaccines will be available.

📅 October 20 | 12–4 p.m.
Hosted by Ella Community Pharmacy
Flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, RSV, Tdap and shingles vaccines will be available.

Registration is encouraged for both clinics, and walk-ins are welcome for flu and COVID-19 vaccines. Pre-registration is required for pneumonia, RSV, Tdap and shingles vaccines on October 20.
