⚽️💚 Rec, Travel, and Premier Soccer... What's the Difference? 💚⚽️

One of the most common questions we hear is, "What's the difference between Rec, Travel, and Premier Soccer?"

Here's a quick breakdown:
⚽️ Recreational Soccer (Rec)- and we offer at CSA
• Focused on learning the game and having fun
• Open to players of all skill levels
• Local games and practices
• Great for players who want a lower time commitment while developing their skills

⚽️ Travel Soccer- that we offer through. CSA
• Designed for players looking for a more competitive environment
• Additional focus on player development and team play
• Games are played against other communities in the region
• Typically involves more practices, travel, and commitment than Rec soccer
• A great next step for players who love the game and want to challenge themselves

⚽️ Premier Soccer/Club Soccer (not through CSA)
• The highest level of youth competition
• For players seeking advanced competition/ development
• More travel and a greater time and monetary commitment
• Players compete against top teams from a larger geographic area

💚 The best fit is different for every player and every family. There is no "right" path—only the path that best matches your child's goals, interests, and commitment level.

⚽️💚 The First Tryout Night is Here! 💚⚽️

A few quick notes for tonight:
⏰ Tryouts will run from 6:00 to about 7:30 PM.
📋 When you arrive, please check in at the table and we’ll direct your player to the correct field.

If your family cannot make it tonight, our second tryout date will be held on 6/2. 🙌

We are trying things a little differently tonight, so we’re incredibly excited while also knowing there may be a few bumps along the way. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we continue building and growing Cloverleaf Travel Soccer!

Please make sure players bring:
⚽️ Water
⚽️ Shin guards
⚽️ Cleats
⚽️ Soccer ball

And if your player is nervous — they are definitely not alone 😊
At the end of the day, there are really only 3 things we want players to focus on tonight:
💚 Try their best
💚 Be respectful
💚 Have fun

All players planning to play travel soccer during the upcoming Fall or Spring season are required to attend an assessment. 🙌

If your child is currently playing travel soccer, please check with your coach for your team’s assessment date and time.

If your family is interested in our “Try Us Out” session, we’d love to host you on:

We’ll be hosting our Travel Soccer “Try Us Out” Assessments on:

☝️Players only need to attend ONE session.
⏰ Times will be announced soon!

Attending one session is mandatory and a great opportunity for:
⚽️ New players interested in travel soccer
⚽️ Returning travel players
⚽️ Families who want to learn more, meet coaches, and ask questions

📣OHTSL Age Group Update for Fall 2026:
Beginning this fall, OHTSL age groups will shift format. This means some players may move to a different age bracket than they played in previously. The goal is to better align teams and player development across leagues and help set up chemistry and success for players entering high school together. See break downs included below for your review!

This weekend, per the OHTSL, CSA will be participating in Silent Sunday — a special day focused on letting the players play without sideline distractions.

We encourage families and fans to:

⚽ Let the kids communicate and enjoy the game
🍭Maybe bring yourself some candy to help keep you busy 😉

Sometimes the best thing we can give our players is the chance to hear their teammates, trust themselves, and simply love the game. 💚⚽️

Today we celebrate all of the amazing soccer moms, grandmas, stepmoms, and mother figures who spend countless hours cheering from the sidelines, running to practices, washing muddy uniforms, and supporting their players every step of the way. 💚

With conditions like this, our soccer fields are CLOSED today so they can dry out and recover.
