Groceries can get a family through this week. But what gets them through a hard season?

At WARM, we believe our neighbors deserve both: help with what's needed right now, and steady support toward what comes next. For over 50 years, WARM has been the Westerville area's neighbor-to-neighbor resource ministry, meeting immediate needs and walking alongside neighbors toward long-term goals.

That can look like ordering groceries online and picking them up at the Choice Market this week, then working toward a new job through Way to Work. We offer food, job support, and spiritual care, so families can move from crisis to stability with dignity and hope.

This Saturday, the Westerville Police Department is hosting Fill a Cruiser for our neighbors at WARM.

Stop by the Schrock Road Kroger, grab a few extra items while you shop, and drop them off with our officers. Every item goes to WARM's Choice Market, where neighbors in a hard season pick up groceries for their families.

Last year, Westerville officers collected 1,611 pounds of food and $479 for neighbors facing hardship. Let's top it this year!

What does it mean to be food insecure? The USDA defines food insecurity as a household being unable, at times, to acquire enough adequate food because of insufficient money or other resources. Itā€™s measured through a standardized survey that asks households about their experiences over the previous 12 monthsā€”things like worrying that food will run out, being unable to afford balanced meals, cutting meal sizes, or skipping meals. When a household affirms at least three of these experiences, it is classified as food insecure.

Behind every statistic is a family doing their best to get by. WARM is here to provide dignity, stability, and hope to families facing hunger and hardship. Thatā€™s why, during September Action Month, we need you to join the fight to end hunger in Westerville.
