A big thank you to everyone who donated to the collection drive for Our Helpers! ❤️ Your generosity helped provide emergency food and household supply boxes to immigrant and refugee families across Central Ohio.

Since December, Our Helpers has sourced, packed, and delivered more than 2,700 boxes to at-risk neighbors, supporting approximately 120 households each week. We’re grateful for the opportunity to play a small role in this incredible impact and thankful to everyone who helped make it possible.

🌱 Volunteer Opportunity: Rooted – A Pop-Up Care Village 🌱

Join Make-A-Day and Franklinton Farms on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at Franklinton Farms (867 W Town St, Columbus, OH) to help provide food, health resources, and support to neighbors experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and housing instability.

Volunteers will help:
🥗 Serve chef-crafted hot meals
📝 Welcome and check in guests
👕 Distribute free clothing and donated items
🤝 Connect neighbors with housing, health, and support services
💙 Create a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone attending

There are several volunteer roles available including:
• General Volunteers
• Check-In Team
• Food Service Team
• Pop-Up Shop Team
• Hair Stylists/Barbers (stipend available)
• Photographer

What to bring:
✔ Comfortable clothing
✔ Closed-toe shoes
✔ A positive, welcoming attitude

Looking for a meaningful way to give back this Mother’s Day? 💗

Volunteer at the Strong Like a Mother 5K on Sunday, May 10 and help support families experiencing housing instability. This event benefits programs that provide safe, stable housing for moms and their children—many led by single mothers under 34.

✨ Volunteer roles include:
• Event setup & teardown
• Registration & check-in
• Water stations along the course
• Course marshals (help guide participants)
• Finish line support & cheering squad

⏰ Flexible shifts available throughout the morning (early setup through post-race wrap-up)
📍 Wolfe Park, Columbus, OH

We had a great time this Earth Day 🌎 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Community Service Day!

We spent the afternoon cleaning up litter at our local community park, Hoof Woods—an impactful way to celebrate and give back to our environment. Let’s continue showing up for the spaces that matter and keep our Earth clean!

Show up for families who need it most 🤍

Our Helpers is a women-led nonprofit supporting immigrant and refugee families across Central Ohio—delivering weekly food and essential supplies to those facing or impacted by deportation. Right now, their rapid response network needs our help.

🗓 Donation Drive: Now through May 8
🥫 Most-needed items: canned foods, pasta, cereal, peanut butter, snacks, plus hygiene items like diapers, deodorant, toothpaste, and cleaning supplies

📍 Drop-off locations:

What an incredible (and impactful) St. Patrick’s Day 💚

Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who joined Small Biz Cares for our Community Service Day! Because of you, we were able to spend the afternoon giving back to two incredible Columbus nonprofits:

✨ LifeCare Alliance – supporting their vital work providing in-home health services and Meals-on-Wheels
🏠 Home for Families – assisting efforts to help families overcome housing challenges and build long-term stability

From rolling up our sleeves to serve, to building new connections along the way, this day was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when our community comes together to .

We loved wrapping up the day by connecting and celebrating at Land-Grant with such an inspiring group of people.

Your time, energy, and heart made a real impact—and we’re so grateful for each of you who showed up to make a difference. We can’t wait to do it again! 💙
