April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

This month, WHS is going blue to stand in support of children and to raise awareness about child abuse prevention.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and protected. By “going” blue and spreading awareness, we’re reminding our community that we all play a role in looking out for one another and speaking up when it matters most.

The Westernport Heritage Society is looking for volunteers to help keep our local history alive and thriving!

We’re currently a small but dedicated group, and we’d love to welcome a few more community members to join us. Whether you have a passion for history, enjoy community involvement, or simply want to lend a hand, there’s a place for you here.

If we do not get volunteers, the museums may have to close their doors.

If you’re interested in getting involved, we invite you to attend our monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 8th at 6:30 PM, or contact John Fazenbaker, Catherine Mock, Dave Mock, or Tom Clayton for more information.

Your time and support can make a meaningful difference in preserving our museums for future generations.

Pastor Ed Clemons, Jr. Ed Clemons Jr.,
We are incredibly grateful for your donation made toward the restoration of the Williams Community Museum.

While meaningful progress has been made, the restoration is not yet complete. This donation is being applied directly toward remaining costs.

Thank you for standing with us and helping preserve our shared history. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

The Williams Community Museum
📍 136 Main Street
was impacted by the May 2025 flood, and while progress has been made, restoration is not yet complete.

We’re seeking volunteers to help lay vinyl plank flooring and move museum and office items.
(If you have a dolly, that could hep with the file cabinets)
No special experience is required — just a willingness to help.

We will gladly work around everyone’s availability. Even a few hours can make a big difference.

Please comment, message us, or share this post to help spread the word.
