What are Shoebox Cookies?
Shoebox Cookies began out of my love of baking and performing random acts of kindness. I was watching a live broadcast of a local church service online and I saw a comment come across the screen that read, “Please send Christmas cookies.” That was it. Instantly, I felt led to send this person cookies. December 14, 2018 was the first time I sent Shoebox Cookies to a deployed service member in Africa. I sent two dozen of my Ginger Molasses cookies; a recipe I’ve made dozens of times and have hopefully perfected by now. On Christmas Eve, I received a message from the recipient which said, “The cookies were a HUGE success.” Join the #ShoeboxCookies movement today.
