Jesse Smith is the newest addition to our core faculty, and we are so thankful to have him and his family here as our next semester is about to start! Jesse has been with us since February taking on a pastoral role for the community that attends our chapel, and is getting ready to take on even more as professor of OT Hebrew and NT Greek. Jesse is a recent graduate of Sangre De Cristo Seminary himself, so will be specially equipped to understand what our students are going through and help them through their studies.

Licensed to Preach in the Rocky Mountain Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America. M.Div., Sangre de Cristo Seminary; B.A., Saint Olaf College; also served as Pastor and Special Education Teacher.

Jim wears a lot of hats here at the seminary. Not only is he the seminary’s president and one of our proffers, he also works tirelessly on administrative tasks, website updates, correspondence with all our supporters, and communication with prospective students.

We are so thankful for Jim’s dedication to ministry here and couldn’t do what we do without him.

Our full time faculty keep everything going around here. It’s impossible to name all the hats Andrew wears, not only does he teach all these classes, but he also takes care of the campus’s grounds work, building maintenance, student counseling, all the pastoral duties for the seminary chapel, and many more crucial tasks.

Our seminary wouldn’t be the same without Andrew’s presence and tireless work for our community.

Our Fall semester is in full swing! We’ve been enjoying community life here on campus, while students are hard at work studying God’s Word, Hebrew, Greek, and Preaching.

A lot goes in to being an effective minister of the Word, but we believe one of the most important parts of a seminary education is learning the original Biblical languages. That’s why our Fall semesters are always very language heavy. Having a solid understanding of Greek and Hebrew can help to provide a deeper understanding of God’s word and the context in which it was written, which leads to solid theology and sermons.
