Sadly, we want to remind everyone that will NOT be a distribution tomorrow in Westcliffe. We have heard from so many of you wonderful neighbor's and how much you need it. We served 70 families from Custer County in Penrose 2 weeks ago, remember until something changes you are WELCOME to join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month at our Mobile Market Outreach! We have heard that the Wet Mountain Animal Welfare, LLC was removed from the local Sharing center. Animals still need food. I hope that you all will pour out your love and support to this great organization! Let's flood them with dog and cat food and offer them locations to do their distributions where everyone is welcome!!

Good morning everyone, we want let you know while we are still working on getting a plan together for Custer County, that this weekend is the Mobile Market Outreach in Penrose. You are welcome and encouraged to come on down, we do not believe that you should suffer with food insecurity because of your geographical location. While you are visiting us you will also be able to sign up for extra food each month through the Everyday Eats program. We look forward to seeing you, we miss you all so much! 100 Illinois, Penrose. 10 a.m.

There have been so many phone calls from all of you, and we appreciate every one of you. As promised, we will be here for you, you matter to us. Your geographical location does not determine your need for food. When you come to the Penrose Mobile Market Outreach on the 3rd Saturday of each month (April,16th) you will be able to pick up your commodity box while at the distribution. If you don't currently get a monthly box please let us know and we will get you set up.

What a wonderful day to serve our neighbors in Custer County. We thank you all so much for your support and love, we will miss you all so much. To everyone who came out to volunteer, you guys are amazing!

We would like to address an issue that was brought to attention today. There is a person in your community that is spreading rumors about lawsuits. We ARE NOT SUING ANYONE. We are disgusted that such rumors and lies are being spread. We encourage anyone who hears this to take the time to look this up on court filings, and learn the facts, we are NOT suing anyone. We are not responsible for the actions of the one group or another in your community. If one organization has been removed from another, that again has nothing to do with our ministry. We were here to SERVE our neighbors, not participate in the drama and negative behaviors. You must remember rumors and gossip will destroy your community, this issue was addressed by our volunteers with the the person saying it and should NOT continue to be spread.

Good morning, Custer County.
We would like to announce that this will be our last Mobile Market Outreach in your area.
We started supporting your community in 2019, to fulfill a verifiable need in Custer County. At that time we were welcomed in and given space in the VSO office so that members of the community who were unable to receive food assistance had a resource to do so. We have watched that need grow over the last few years and have loved being there to help support your community. As time has gone on the folks who were in charge decided that they were moving on and away from the issues that they were seeing within the community. Thus leaving our ministry's space to operate in the hands of those who would take their place. Unfortunately, during the last 3 years, we have also endured hostile behaviors, false accusations, and the pushing for the removal of the Cupboard from the Veterans Service Center, the majority of very people we were there to help. Thus, We have made the decision to pull back and allow those who say they will offer and do more the full responsibility to do so.
We have made many wonderful relationships while in Custer County and cherish them all, our assistance, love, and door are always open to you, in Penrose. You are invited to come to our Mobile Market Outreach in Penrose on the 3rd Saturday of each month, we are sorry that you will have to make the drive but will look forward to seeing you. If you have a Cupboard card from our former location in Westcliffe, they are always honored here at the Cupboard in Penrose. Tracy Aiton Ballard, we thank you for stepping in and helping to serve your community, HA Buck Wenzel, thank you for your support, and for trying to lead your fellow county members by example.
In closing, we want to share a thought for moving forward. The sensation of hunger has no geographical location. Jesus Christ commanded us to "Love your neighbor as yourself" Mark 12:31, and "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing." Hebrews 13:1-2
As we leave your community we will pray that peace, kindness, and love will be blessed upon all who live and love Custer County.

Reminder, our Mobile Market distribution line is running behind the school. Lots of great food, cheese and produce. We are here until 2! Westcliffe School
