It's cold outside. I just turned on the heat and I'm grateful I can do that. For the average family in Maine, heating oil is double last year's prices, and we haven't even hit the peak yet. For families moving out of the shelter or for New Americans, many have no furniture; many are sleeping on the floor. Michigan State University's research showed that the average person moving out of the shelter sleeps on the floor for two and a half months to over two years. Please consider donating bedding and comforters to Maine Needs and Make It Home, and queen box springs and mattresses to Furniture Friends. It's cold outside. I just turned on the heat and I am grateful I can do that.

Hey, we’ve got a bona fide celebrity sighting!

Our board member Sara Hipple and her spouse Ethan are in a bowling league in the basement of the Woodfords Club. How cool is that? Honestly, we’re bowled over.
..Tough crowd. You could hear a pin drop after that one. Wait, is this mic on?
