This Sunday, both organizations are having events!
🥎⚾ At The Giving Dugout’s equipment drive, we will also be accepting donations of soccer equipment on behalf of Westbrook Soccer Club.
⚽ At Westbrook Soccer’s team evaluations, they will be accepting donations of baseball and softball equipment on behalf of us.

This partnership allows us to reach more families and collect more equipment.
Whether you have cleats, shin guards, soccer balls, bats, gloves, or helmets collecting dust, bring it to either event and we will take care of the rest.

Together, we’re proving that youth sports organizations are stronger when we work together.

Today, my son and I spent some time visiting local businesses throughout Downtown Westbrook, introducing them to The Giving Dugout and sharing information about our upcoming equipment drive. We handed out flyers, talked about the impact that access to sports equipment can have on local families, and connected with business owners who care deeply about supporting youth in our community. One of the best parts of this has been seeing firsthand how willing our community is to come together.

We visited my son’s favorite dinner spot, Blazes Burgers. Alex let my extremely independent, 6 year old pick the perfect spot to hang the flyer in the window. While it took him what seemed like 3 business days to get a piece of tape off the roll, I was speaking with a couple who was waiting for their dinner. After learning about what we were doing, they made a donation that will provide enough equipment to fully outfit two athletes for next season. Their kindness and generosity will have a direct impact on local children.💙

The Giving Dugout is growing and we can't wait to see what we can accomplish together! 🥎⚾️

Over the past week, the support for The Giving Dugout has been incredible. From every like, share, comment, and word of encouragement; thank you for helping spread the mission and believing in what this community can do together.
A very special thank you to the members of the Westbrook Little League board for supporting this idea from the beginning and giving us the space to bring it to life.
We also want to give a huge thank you to the amazing moms who gave up their one baseball free day to help clean donated equipment and organize the space. Your willingness to jump in and help behind the scenes is what makes this community so special.
The Giving Dugout was created with the hope that every child has the opportunity to play the game they love, regardless of financial barriers. Seeing our community rally behind that vision has been truly humbling.
For those who have reached out asking how to support the cause in other ways, we are currently hoping to collect gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods so we can purchase equipment in sizes we may not have available. We have also put together an Amazon gift list with equipment that can be purchased in different sizes and a general gift card fund that can be used towards items in need.
We are just getting started, and we’re so grateful to have this community beside us every step of the way. ⚾🥎💙

A space you can donate equipment your kids have grown out of, a place a senior can leave their stuff for the next generation of Westbrook baseball and softball players to get the gear they need for the season.

We are working on a date for a community donation drive but in the meantime, if you have equipment that still has innings to play, we are happy to meet up with you sooner.
If you are a local business and are willing to place a flyer in your window, please let us know and we will drop some off once the date is scheduled.
