This happened Friday!! We are proud to continue our quarterly donation of snacks to the VA Clinic in Portland. Club President Jessica Pate Warren is smiling behind the boxes, along with Tim, Larry and Alan. These gentlemen are Ambassadors who greet all incoming patients and guide them to appointments as necessary.

Rotary Club of Portland, Maine USA also makes regular donations to this amazing facility serving our veterans. A great Rotary Club partnership.

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go." ~Dr Seuss

Celebrate International Literacy Day on September 8 by reading to a child in your life, donating a book to a local non-profit, or by thanking a teacher or librarian. Literacy opens doors to education, opportunity, and a brighter future.

Our last Tuesday "field trip" of the summer took us to Westbrook Community Center for a quick lunch and brief meeting, then down the hall to the Westbrook Maine Historical Society for a tour.

They provided an overview of the ongoing work to refresh the layout and displays, and we presented a donation to the organization in support of their efforts in the area of historical education. A children's book has been donated in their honor to Walker Memorial Library

Hope to see a lot of our members and some friends at our upcoming meeting on Tuesday September 8, 11:30AM at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center Dining room. The kids aren't back cooking lunches just yet, but we're in the final countdown!!

Little Free Library at Smiling Hill Farm . What a great location!! We just dropped off some children's books today. Take a book or leave a book. Pass along the gift of reading 📚 While we were there, we saw the Book Fairy Pantry Project signs 💗
