The vision for Razia Education Foundation (REF) is to make an impact towards India achieving 100 % literacy rate. This is not a dream. This is a possibility !
While I was doing research on the challenges India is facing at the moment with respect to Early Education, I came across this article which gives very good insights about the current scenario.
Early education (0-2) years and then Pre-school followed by a strong Primary education is critical for building a strong academic and overall learning foundation for every child.
We have good policies around this, as wells as a decent budget, however the big question we need to anawer is the effective implementation of the plan and real data to show the impact of the programs on the ground.
Do all schools especially the ones in rural India have the basic infrastructure like:
*Good teachers and teachers development
*Proper classrooms and access to technology
*Play area for children
*Library for children to read books everyday
*Counselling services for children and parents who are struggling academically
*English language development
*Strategy to reduce Drop-outs
I think these are some real challenges many schools in India face today. Though we are making progress I think a lot more needs to be done.
We need the help of Private players and Non profits, to work alongside Govt. & International Organizations to meet the challenges of Education and Human Development in India ! The vision of REF is to work in that direction one step at a time.
