🐴 INDEPENDENT EAL PROVIDERS & THERAPISTS WANTED

Are you an Equine-Assisted Learning provider or licensed therapist interested in offering services in an established equine setting—without owning and maintaining your own farm and herd?

UP THERE, LLC in Westboro, Wisconsin is looking for a small number of independent professionals interested in operating their own practices from our farm.

🌿 FOR EAL PROVIDERS

We are looking for qualified EAL providers who want a location to operate their own independent EAL business.

CLTS-approved providers—or providers willing to pursue CLTS approval—are especially encouraged to contact us. UP THERE currently maintains a CLTS waitlist, which may provide referral opportunities for independent providers who are approved to serve CLTS participants.

🌿 FOR THERAPISTS

We are also looking for licensed mental health professionals interested in incorporating equine-assisted work into their existing practice.

This may be an opportunity to offer clients an experiential, outdoor, equine-assisted option without taking on the significant expense and responsibility of owning a farm and maintaining a herd.

🐴 WHAT UP THERE PROVIDES

• An established farm in Westboro, WI
• Access to our herd of 10 horses and donkeys
• A quiet, rural setting near the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest
• A non-ridden environment for equine-assisted work
• Facility and equine access for scheduled client sessions

Equine welfare is central to everything we do.

Providers practicing at UP THERE must share our commitment to treating horses and donkeys as active participants in the work. Equine choice and agency must be incorporated into sessions and respected at all times.

💼 YOU RUN YOUR OWN PRACTICE

This is not an employment or independent-contractor position with UP THERE.

Providers operate their own businesses, manage their own clients and professional responsibilities, and pay UP THERE a facility-use fee for scheduled sessions.

We are looking for professionals who are comfortable independently managing the business side of their practice and who want to become part of a small, values-aligned professional community at the farm.

What’s up with UP THERE?

A few folks have asked why we don’t post as much as we used to. So, I thought it might be a nice time to give you all an update.

🫏So, some of have wondered, are we still offering services. The short answer is “yes,” AND we currently have a wait list that is slightly over a year.
🐴Why don’t we add more sessions? The short answer is because we don’t have the staff to do so. We are looking for that magical unicorn of a person who would like to collaborate with us, but have not found that special person yet.
🫏Are we going to be doing our Neurodiverse social groups this year? Unfortunately no. If grant funds become available or if families are willing to pay for the social groups we will bring them back, but for now they are no longer running.
🐴Why don’t we share more on Facebook—frankly it’s just not in our bandwidth to do a ton on social media at this time. But we will continue to share amazing resources and pertinent information as it comes up.
🫏How are the horses and donkeys doing? They are doing well. I have included some photos for tax! 🙂

Today we are at the Celebrating Our Wisconsin Specialties (COWS) brought to you by Medford Area Public School District! We love getting to share with our community how horses and donkeys contribute to . Today we are talking with youth about the 5 freedoms.

Some of our core team members are donkeys, and, like Rachel Ann, we caught the donkey bug too! We use her work, along with the great info by Megan Hensley (Holistic Hooves), to inform our care, training, and handling practices. This is an awesome little documentary!

Such a great short documentary by Ben Asphaug on Hee-Haw Halfway House Donkey Rescue and Education ! I LOVE IT!!
Benjamin did this as a capstone project for his film class. I would say he has a great future in this industry. This is phenomenal.
