Late summer is one of the best times to plant bare-root conifers. 🌲
Planting these evergreens before their active growth phase allows them to build a strong root system, which then helps them take hold and grow. It’s a simple, beautiful way to support greening and biodiversity, one tree at a time. https://go.td.com/4b9kFw4

With support from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, Nook Children's Program is helping young people connect with nature through its Goin' Green program. 🌱

Through monthly activities offered year-round, children explore the natural world around them by taking part in hands-on projects, including community campfires, learning about the life cycle of trees, mapping neighbourhood trees, creating recycled art, birdwatching, discovering insects and pollinators, making sun prints, and planting native species.

In addition to fostering curiosity and environmental stewardship, the program helps young people build stronger connections with their community while taking meaningful action to support local biodiversity. 💚

that the northern long-eared bat is an invaluable ally for biodiversity?
Common in many regions of Canada, it feeds on nocturnal insects, including mosquitoes, which helps regulate their populations naturally. By protecting its habitats, we also play our part in preserving ecosystem balance. 🦇 https://go.td.com/4fvA4rY

With its beautiful clusters of pinkish-purple flowers, common milkweed, a plant native to Canada, is more than just eye-catching. 🌸 It attracts pollinators and helps support local biodiversity.

It is also essential to the survival of the monarch butterfly, as it is the only plant on which monarchs lay their eggs and the sole food source for their caterpillars. 🦋🐝💚

The Campbellton Regional Community is inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards through the Homes for Tree Swallows Project, made possible with support from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. 🐤

Students from Le Galion des Appalaches School helped build and install nest boxes for Tree Swallows, creating valuable habitat for local wildlife. Through this hands-on experience, they learned about biodiversity, conservation, and the important role they can play in protecting the natural spaces around them. 🔨🌿
