On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we reflect, learn and grieve the legacy of colonialism and residential schools in Canada and the impact both continue to have on Indigenous communities. Despite this history and the harm settler institutions continue to cause, Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island continue to resist, lead, and flourish. We have much to learn from Indigenous perspectives, knowledge and ways of being.

On and beyond, Findhelp is committed to improving accessibility across our services and digital platforms. As part of this work, we partnered with Canadian Hearing Services to review the Victim Support Directory and Victim Support Line and identify ways to better support Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing people. This work has already led to American Sign Language (ASL) and Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ) videos with written transcripts on Findhelp’s Victim Support Directory website, along with specialized training for our Victim Support Line navigators on accessible communication methods and assistive technologies.

Today, Findhelp celebrates the International Day for Universal Access to Information. Through collaboration with The Carter Center's Inform Women, Transform Lives initiative, we join cities around the world in creating more inclusive ways to share municipal information. By increasing awareness and access to public information, we are helping to ensure that women have the information they need to access services, exercise their rights, and navigate opportunities with confidence.

September 25 is Franco-Ontario Day. This day represents the diversity of language and culture in Ontario and also commemorates the day the Franco-Ontarian flag was first flown in 1975. The flag has become an official symbol of Ontario, with the fleur-de-lis and trillium representing French-speaking Ontarians and the colours representing the balance of Canadian summer and winter.

Findhelp Information Services proudly celebrates all Franco-Ontarians and the diversity of language and culture in Ontario!

Recovery isn't the same for everyone.

For some people, it's finding the right treatment. For others, it's connecting with a peer support group or taking the first step toward asking for help.

Whatever that journey looks like, support is available. If you're looking for addiction or mental health resources in your community, 211 can help you find them.

A good first job can help shape the path ahead, and young people deserve meaningful opportunities to build skills, confidence and connections as they begin their careers.

Findhelp was proud to join United Way Greater Toronto, the City of Toronto, corporations, and community partners at the Youth Employment Celebration and launch of the Toronto Youth Employment Charter.

We were especially proud to see Findhelp student Anika Shaggi take part in the youth panel, where she shared her experience and perspective on the state of youth employment. Hearing directly from young people is essential to understanding the barriers they face and creating employment opportunities that reflect their needs and aspirations.

Thank you to United Way Greater Toronto, the City of Toronto and the Toronto Youth Employment Table for bringing young people, employers and community organizations together around a shared commitment to creating more equitable pathways to meaningful work. Thank you as well to MP Leslie Church, Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretaries of State for Labour, for Seniors, and for Children and Youth, and to the Minister of Jobs and Families, for joining us and underscoring the federal government’s commitment to meaningful youth employment.

Understanding what your community needs often starts with knowing what they're asking for.

As a 211 service partner, Findhelp produces quarterly data snapshots to highlight emerging community needs. These are more than data points. They show where people are seeking support and where gaps remain. For community organizations, funders, governments and service partners, these insights can help identify emerging pressures, inform priorities and support more coordinated responses.
