During Giving Tuesday we spent our afternoon serving up a wonderful harvest menu to the women at the Fresh Start Women's Center here in Des Moines, IA. It was a Tuesday spent at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church cooking up gratitude, communion, fellowship and prayer. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Women at the Well and I can't wait to see how we can collaborate WATW with CSM and JustFaith Ministries programming!

There was a great chalk mural inside the women's center (pictured) that I wanted to share: "Remember the lesson. Forget the Mistake."

On Thursday, October 26 at 3:30pm ET/12:30pm PT, JustFaith Ministries staff members will hold an information meeting about The Land is Not Our Own: Seeking Repair Alongside Indigenous Communities. I was able to get a sneak peak at the program video and it was AH-mazing!

The meeting will include tips about starting groups in your church, organization, or area; general information about the programs; and a short experiential introduction to the programs. Register today!

Today I was trying to decide what would make a great door prize for the Harvest Dinner on October 24th at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church and while looking around the office I saw a book titled, Earth Prayers. From Thich Nhat Hanh to Black Elk to Margaret Atwood to Rumi, what a perfect gift idea to represent CSM and the Faith & Grace Garden! I can't wait to give away a couple of these books to the wonderful 2023 garden volunteers!

We purchased books from Better World Books which is B Corp™ certified and I love that with our purchase today, we donated 3 books and we also helped fund non-profit organizations changing the world through education and literacy. "Buy Books. Do Good."

I was invited by JustFaith Ministries graduate and CSM advocate Cindy Mumm to attend Des Moines Intentional Eucharistic Community service this morning. We focused on acts of compassion and I am so grateful to be invited into this space this morning. Thank you!

There is room at the table for us all. ♥️

Faith & Grace Garden Harvest Dinner committee.

We are at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church brainstorming delicious ideas for the upcoming potluck dinner to celebrate all of the wonderful 2023 garden volunteers. We look so serious here but it was a great meeting as we talked and discussed the event while nibbling on freshly baked chocolate chip and sea salt cookies made by Robin. Yum!
