West Banker Kirk Besh recently presented a West Bancorporation Foundation grant to Chrysalis Foundation. Pictured with Kirk are Terry Hernandez, Chrysalis Foundation Executive Director, and Brooke Findley, Chrysalis Foundation Deputy Director. The funding will support Chrysalis Foundation's After-School Resilience and Well-Being Initiative, which helps young women build confidence, resilience, and skills for the future.

2027 Chrysalis Community Partner Grants are now open.

This year, Chrysalis is offering two funding opportunities for organizations serving girls and women in Greater Des Moines:

• Operating Support Grants of up to $10,000 for organizations whose overall mission and work closely align with Chrysalis priorities
• Project Grants generally ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 for specific programs or initiatives that create meaningful impact for girls and women

The process begins with a brief Letter of Intent, due by 12 noon on October 16, 2026. Eligible organizations must serve girls and/or women in Polk, Warren, and/or Dallas County and meet the other requirements outlined in the grant guidelines.

Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate the educators who show up every day to help young people learn, grow, and see new possibilities for themselves.

We are especially grateful for the teachers who also serve as Chrysalis After-School facilitators. Their commitment extends beyond the school day as they create supportive spaces where girls can build confidence, strengthen relationships, explore new ideas, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Thank you to the educators who make this work possible and who continue to invest their time, care, and expertise in the next generation.

Exciting changes are coming to Chrysalis Community Partner Grants!

Chrysalis is making updates to our Community Partner Grant program designed to better serve our nonprofit partners and strengthen our collective impact for girls and women across Greater Des Moines.

We’ll be sharing more details about the updated grant process, funding opportunities, and timeline very soon.

In the meantime, organizations interested in applying for Chrysalis funding at any point during the next 12 months should complete our Organization Profile Form. This important first step helps us learn more about your organization, its work, and the communities you serve.
