UCS Healthcare (formerly known as United Community Services & Franklin Family Practice) offers one of the broadest arrays of behavioral and primary health care services in central Iowa. That is accomplished by offering a continuum of care that ranges from well baby care to geriatric medicine and a

broad range of mental health care services, psychiatry and substance use disorder treatment including medication assisted treatment. The team members at UCS Healthcare find great personal reward in using their skills and life experiences to partner with patients to achieve optimum health. UCS Healthcare is based in West Des Moines, Iowa, with locations in Ankeny and Knoxville, as well as through medication units embedded with 11 treatment providers across Iowa. Talking about su***de does not increase risk. It opens doors. Mental health conditions and suicidal thoughts are more common than many people realize, and asking someone directly if they are okay can make a real difference.

UCS Healthcare offers mental health therapy and psychiatric services across Iowa. Support is also available 24 hours a day through the 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline.

Today, National Overdose Awareness Day, we are resharing an important video from Candace Prashad, a pharmacist at UCS Healthcare, sharing the signs of an overdose and what to do if someone may be experiencing one.

Recognizing the signs can save a life. Overdose affects families and communities across Iowa, and access to treatment is one of the most effective tools in prevention.
