WHAT WE DO-

We collect generously donated maternity clothing, baby clothing and nursery items and get them into the arms of expecting mothers/fathers with babies in need. WE CARE FOR THOSE IN NEED-

Many families have found themselves struggling during these recent times. MHH is here for YOU. If you’r

e pregnant or if you have a young baby, we can provide you with gently used maternity clothing, baby clothing and nursery items. Our items have been generously donated and we ensure you everything we offer is clean and in good condition. Email- [email protected]

Mary's Helping Hands will be closed on Sunday, June 21st in observance of Father's Day as we take time to celebrate the dads, grandpas, and father figures who make such a difference in the lives of their families.

We love it when the ladies from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Sacred Heart Women's Guild spend an afternoon volunteering at Mary's Helping Hands!

From sorting donations and creating clothing bundles to sharing laughs, stories, and fellowship, they help make a big difference for the families we serve. Their time, energy, and servant hearts are such a blessing to our ministry.

We are incredibly grateful to Polk County Iowa for helping us strengthen our outreach and better serve families throughout Polk County through their generous support of new marketing materials for Mary's Helping Hands!

Because of this partnership, we were able to purchase:

✨ A retractable banner to represent Mary's Helping Hands at community events
✨ Updated brochures to share information about our services
✨ A wagon to help transport supplies and event materials
✨ Branded toddler feeding bibs to distribute to future clients and families

These tools help us connect with more families and ensure they know where to turn for support when they need it most.

A bittersweet sight! 💙

As beautiful as a clean sorting room is, we actually love it when you can barely see the floor! Why? Because every bag of donated clothing means we can help more Iowa families with young children.

Right now, our sorting room has plenty of open floor space, and we'd love your help filling it! We are currently accepting gently used newborn - 2T clothing to pass along to families who need it most.

Your child's outgrown clothes can become a blessing to another family and help ensure little ones have the clothing they need to thrive.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Mary's Helping Hands during our open hours of Monday - Friday 9 AM - 4 PM or Sundays Noon - 2 PM

A big thank you to Garden Grace Blooms for donating these beautiful bouquets of wildflowers, picked right here in West Des Moines!

Our clients and volunteers absolutely loved being greeted by these wonderful flowers when they entered Mary's Helping Hands. Their beauty brings so much joy and brightness to our space.

We are so grateful for this thoughtful gift and for community partners like Garden Grace Blooms who help make Mary's Helping Hands a welcoming place for everyone who walks through our doors.
